I'm glad that news doesn't make it up here.

Would probably have flipped a shite.

So, do we know yet if Haley has withheld state resources from Clemson for their game? Or, can we expect to see state troopers flanking Dabo on the sideline tonight?

If she could withhold Massachusetts state troopers from that game tonight than you are giving her way too much credit.

shite, I would be impressed if she could do that actually.

Matthew is expected to make landfall in Charleston late tonight/early tomorrow morning. The storm surge could wreak havoc on the peninsula and surrounding islands.

I just hung up the phone with a buddy of mine in Monks Corner who just drove home from a hurricane party in Goose Creek and he said this storm is nothing but much ado about nothing. He was pretty liqoured-up but he said his sister and brother in law were whooping it up on James Island just off of Foley Road down by the Crab House at Marlboro and they said winds were about 25 miles per hour and it is raining .... that's it. And the storm, what is left of its is making landscape near there right now.

This storm ... I don't want to say it's a joke, but it was way overblown (pardon the pun).

Well ... this is a full blown tropical storm. We are getting pounded. Lost power about three hours ago - dog came and jumped in the bed with us and will not let us go back to sleep. Wind is whipping and whistling. Trees are down everywhere. We're pretty far inland so I imagine the coast is really taking a beating right now. It must have come in straight stud overnight - I did not think it would be this strong this far in but it is hammering us.

Hurricane Hugo wreaked havoc on SC in 1989.

I was born in 1990.

I attended SC from 2010-2013. Multiple 11-win seasons and 3 CWS finals and 2 titles.

There were Hurricanes and storms growing up but our state was largely fortunate enough to have gotten anything too bad.

I leave SC in 2014.

The football team tanks and the baseball team hasn't been the same. Even worse, Clemson has been a top 4 program at worst. Last year we get record floodings last year and the coast is now getting battered.

I think I need to return to SC to help out my kin.

I hope you all who live on or near the coast is safe.

Have any of you heard anything about how much damage Edisto received?

Luckily everyone's safe in the upstate. We had some strong wind gusts and bad thunderstorms lastnight and this morning, but the sun is poking out (Spartanburg, Union area)

Edisto took a beating. Palmetto Ave is covered in about half a foot of sand, several houses were totally swept away.

My family has a house on Myrtle Street and I don't know when they will be able to go and assess how much damage the house took. I'm not looking forward to possibly heading down there this coming week.

A friend of mine in Charleston said she got an alert that her back door was wide open. Her husband is having to go back down to check it out. Not sure if the weather knocked it open or someone broke in taking advantage of the evacuation.

Finally got power back on here in Myrtle Beach, been out since about 2pm yesterday afternoon. This is the craziest power outage I've seen. Last night, most of the radio stations here lost transmission. Drove around town early this morning and saw maybe three working stop lights.

My parents are still without power.

They live in forest acres. My uncle road out the storm in Mt. Pleasant and never lost power.

Pretty frustrating
