when should we know something? Wasn't it Wednesday last year prior to the LSU game that things were made official?

Also let's say the worst case scenario and it's moved to Athens (again, pure speculation, just thinking out loud here)...how do tickets work? Surely it wouldn't just be a UGA home game, would all ~70K SC ticket holders be there and the ~10K UGA tickets sit in the visitor section?

Great questions. As a season ticket holder, I wish I knew the answer.

If this thing is moved to Athens it's time for Gamecock fans to fricking invade BHam and coup the SEC home offices.

Moving it to Athens would be totally unacceptable.

I don't think Athens would even be in play IMO. If it does get moved I'd imagine the dome would be more appropriate.

Georgia State plays there on Saturday.

I highly, highly doubt they will move the game. If they did, I'd imagine that Clemson would have to be considered a real possibility.

some random on another board said a SC state trooper told him the game will have to be moved bc there won't be enough law enformcenent available to work it. Take that FWIW of course.

"The safety of everyone that could be impacted by this storm is paramount," the statement said. "Once forecasts call for action, we will use all means necessary to inform the public. Kickoff for the USC football game vs. Georgia is slated for 7:30 pm Saturday at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia."

As of now, everything is still a go for Saturday night.

looks like minumum wind of 35mph, possible up to 60mph at kickoff. Doesnt seem likely they keep the game in Columbia

I thought the same thing about Clemson with them being gone except they play Friday night so Im sure they'll be back on Saturday and not thirlled about UGA and SC on their campus

HEre's a thought...why not just move the time up to earlier Saturday? I'm sure TV is a big factor here, but if the 7:30 KO is one of the big decision factors, why not just make it a 10am kickoff or something and get the thing over with?

That model has it making landfall around 8 am, approximately 12 hours prior to kickoff. Hopefully that thing will be far enough NE by kickoff that it won't affect as much.

I think the main concern is if the law enforcement and first responders will be available to work. They may be needed on the coast if SC takes a catastrophic hit.

We haven't heard anything about an evacuation in MB yet. I did here that school was canceled in Charleston, and that they were giving people the option to evacuate.

SC no longer does voluntary evacuations. A declaration to evacuate is just that. Also, the Gov. just mentioned she "can't imagine the game takes place as planned."

Just saw the SC Governer said they "can't see that happening" in reference to the game being Sat night as scheduled

It won't.

What about cancelling the UMass game and playing during UGAs bye?

we would fight tooth and nail to keep our bye week since it's before UF and they also have the bye that week.

I agree it aint getting canceled, seems to me it's just a matter of where and when to play.
