The guy exceeds expectations in the first two years, has a killer recruiting class going that addresses most every need....and in year three finally falls below expectation so we are all supposed to jump off the ship?

The fans who want to fire Beamer right now, or claim he isnt the guy are just acting rashly like idiots.

Whether Beamer is the guy or not is purely inconsequential.

He's here. He's employed. He wants the job- a globally undesirable one, at that. There is literally no one out there who has accomplished more than him that wants it. None.

So, you ride with him for at least 6 years. And whatever you have, you have. But you can't fire him. He's shown some things, and has just enough promise that you can't get rid of him.

You don't have to jump ship, just don't be surprised when his recruiting and cheerleading is outweighed by his refusal to fire the weak points of his staff and/or bring in coaches with actual P5 experience.

(I'm also hoping that by bumping this thread, it blows up in my face again with us pulling out a miracle W out of nowhere, just like last year.)

I thought maybe thats where you were going with it.

but man, Gamecock nation has gotten really depressing these last few days, when a lot of Gamecock nation predicted a bad year. I really wish we could understand that bad years were going to happen and be okay looking to the future with optimism just one year.

unless our recruits jump ship, we are going to be fine
