Most think were the leader and he plans to announce next month. Auburn and Penn State or Virgina Tech are said to be close though

He tweeted tonight that he was announcing 12/31. Haven't followed him much, but all of the beat writers were re-tweeting it.

He's coming to SC. The guy who broke the story put in a prediction for SC immediately after breaking the news. Also, the bigger name predictors and even the Ped state 247 insider predicted him to SC in the past month.

I'm still nervous about Franklin putting a full court press on during the holiday and inviting the kid to Christmas dinner. Franklin stole Palmer out from us at the midnight hour, he's capable of doing it again.

Yes in that they are both dual threat. McIlwain is much more polished as a passer, has a bigger arm and is more accurate. Honestly, it's best if you watch these highlights

Lorenzo Jr and Sr (mid-Season) highlights
Lorenzo has good size, but needs to add 25 lbs, he has the height for it. I think he's a taller Connor Shaw, and probably further along right now in his development than Shaw was at this point. (Shaw also played WR in HS though.)

Nunez sure rolls to his left very well ... he's got a ton of potential. I like the looks of him a lot.

McIlwain does appear to be slightly more polished with his throwing motion, the way he sets-up and scans the field, etc. Plus, there is a little scat-back/WR type on McIlwain's team that reminds me of Ace Sanders. I wonder if we're after him?

Both of them are strong, seem to have good speed and good bursts, good vision. Landing both of those guys in the same class though ... I dunno, that would be interesting.

I misread that they were different classes. Impressive to say the least. Thanks for the video posts.

Correct. That's why I think McIlwain is even a bigger deal for us as a 'get.' He has another year to polish up even more before he comes to SC. Obviously he's receiving good coaching where he's at right now. I know Nunez has a personal QB coach as well. I think McIlwain and Nunez are both going to give us some great options for QB in '16 and beyond. I don't know if Nunez is going to come in and grab a 2 Deep spot in '15, but we'll see who's around after the season.

I really thought Nos was going to put up a fight for that QB spot after Dylan left. Nosovitch was a Parade All American too out of HS.

I thought he'd compete for the job this year. He must really suck to be behind Perry Orth

Copy that ... then we want both! Amen!

I'll be shocked if we get both of them.

I like Nunez a lot.

2016 is a long ways off.

Arden Key Sr Highlights

He put on some weight, he's up to 230 lbs right now. Hopefully he can gain another 20 lbs of good weight before next season (that's not easy for a guy his age and who wouldn't be an EE.)

In the highlights, I didn't see him go against and D1 prospect tackles. So it will be really important to see how he does in the Under Armor All American game and drills. He's rooming with Christian Pellage there.

What I did like about his highlights were his intensity and pursuit, he chased down several guys and had a couple different moves to disengage from blockers. We'll need to work on his tackling form for the SEC level. He made plenty of tackles in the highlights, but that was b/c he was bigger/stronger than those HS kids. In the SEC, he'll have big strong RB's that he won't be able to pull down with 1 hand right now. The potential is absolutely there though, just has to be molded in the S&C program and in drills.

Brandi Mills from 247 asked Arden Key some questions today. There were some great replies in here.

Yep, he's gonna be a Gamecock

I'm surprised he didn't ride this out all the way to signing day though, it would've been funny to watch another BAW, Green situation.

Yeah I saw he did an interview for TBS. Would love to get the highlights from there if anyone is a paying member.

ETA: I am an idiot.

This Rusty kid from the uga 247 site was PISSED that Brandi, the girl who did the interview, used his name in it and the thread that followed on TBS about that was lulz.

not anymore, Chavis was the reason they were putting DL in the NFL the past 6 years

Chavis was the DC and LB coach. A new DC there might bring in a whole new staff. They have more coaching instability than we do.
