Why would I?
I'm not wrong.
GDP is a measure of economic activity, not a measure of wealth.
There is more MONEY in the Fayetteville metro area than in Little Rock.
The velocity of that money is the primary driver behind the growth in that area :)

GDP LR > NWA
Gross personal income LR >NWA
So what exactly do you mean? Walton dollars that don't ever enter or impact the local economy?
By any meaningful metric there is more money in the LR economy.

Central Arkansas crushes NWA in all parameters. Saline, Pulaski, Lonoke and Faulkner are hopping for my business. Ive pretty much got out of the NWA market a couple of years back.
That being said, NWA will be primed for my return in a few years.

Piofeet has now let me know why he is against tyson's chicken.
He is in the chicken market himself, and is getting hormonal about getting beat.

The closest thing to me being involved with Tyson is flying on Tyson chartered jets.

Speaking of Tyson, they are cutting 450 office jobs, primarily in NWA, Chicago and Cincinnati.

I've often wondered if that was him lol

Can't be. He hasn't been there in 7 years and we are to believe everything that the dick sucker says.

Hilarious. Spoken like someone who is completely oblivious to the current economic landscape of NWA.

I didn't say no Walton dollars enter the economy... But what does should show up in the data somewhere

I'd argue that the Waltons, in some ways, are sinking too much money into the economy. They (and their affiliates) are propping up businesses in the area, especially in Bentonville through investment groups that they fund (such as Ropeswing). This is creating a bubble for rent in the downtown that makes it hard for true bootstrap startups to exist in Bentonville.
That being said, it's very Field of Dreams right now. They're building it and creating the infrastructure, and it will eventually level out and become sustainable. Right now it's just a perilous market to enter without good backing (I'm really speaking mainly of Bentonville dining, retail, etc.. here).
Their investment in the home region infrastructure is insane right now, though. In the paper this morning alone there is a story about 1.8 million they're putting into the TheaterSquared space in Fayetteville and another about their 2million dollar investment into the Community Venture Foundation (a startup/incubator group).
I'm no Little Rock hater, though. I like a lot of stuff that's happening down there as well. Dining scene is MUCH better in Little Rock. The Innovation Hub is also awesome in Argenta. Toured it a while back, and I really hope we get something that cool up here soon. Warwick Sabin puts together some really great coalitions down there, and I'd love to see what he can do as mayor.

This thread has become a regional dick swinging contest I see. I will say two things about Little Rock.
Your restaurant game is beating NWA's arse. (In my mind the only thing that matters)
When I 49 is completed Little Rock has a pretty good chance of being irrelevant and may start to look like Jackson.

I'm probably coming off as anti-NWA but I'm really not. I just think it's funny when smug NWAers laugh at the idea of businesses existing in LR, when it's still the biggest economy in the state by a significant margin.
