It's all Little Rock has to hold onto these days.

I laughed when he said "LR businessmen".

What businesses?

You are right, I should have said the unemployed/retail workers of LR are running the circuit. We aren't NWA, churches don't run everything down here.

Nope, but I've consulted owners on how to renovate said building/s and people are paying a premium to occupy/drink/eat at these new establishments.

Go build barb wired fences and eat your red lobster, Dale.

You mentioned Mills. How the frick do you think they got players over certain schools? You are a fraud and an idiot on LR basketball.
... because it can cherry pick good students from the pulaski county area because if it's nationally renonwed AP program?

I mean when I was at mills we had kids transffering in from private schools. You're hard fricking pressed to find a HS diploma in arkansas with more weight then a Mills diploma from it's AP department

The frick is a kid with half a brain going to do go to McClellan or go to mills?

shite, that is all mills has ever been known for... ;shite football, shite basketball until coach allen took over, a really good baseball program, a very solid orchestra and out fricking standfing acacdmeics (if you were in AP if not frick off lol)''

I would pick 10 people from this thread and would bet 100 dollars more than...1 of you couldn't drive me to mills shite I went there and forget which exit to take.

Plenty of money in Little Rock.
Still the center of business, media and government in Arkansas.
Always will be.

Yeah..

Little Rock metro areas: in 2000, 610,518 population.. in 2016, est. 734,622

Fayetteville metro areas: in 2000, 347,045, in 2016 est. 525,032

Little Rock and its surrounding have been eclipsed as the area of primary importance in Arkansas. While the state government is still there, the focus of business is now in Northwest Arkansas. There is more money and a faster growing population there.

As far as median family income, household income, home ownership rates, etc. Saline county is actually the wealthiest county in AR

GDP 2016 (in millions):

Little Rock/NLR/Conway - 37,796

Fayetteville/Springdale/Rogers - 26,764

It's a lot easier to have more growth when you're starting from a substantially lower point.

GDP per capita is higher in NWA, but saying there is more money in NWA is not only incorrect, it's not even close to being true.

To put on perspective, NWA would have to grow at 5% for 9 years to reach LR levels. That's assuming LR stays at 0% growth.

Keep in mind that in the last 15 years, NWA's highest growth rate was 7% one year. In that same time period, LR hit 8% twice.

GDP of metro areas..

Little Rock: 2011 - 34,339, 2016 - 37,796

Fayetteville: 2011 - 19,906, 2016 - 26,764

So.. in 5 years the little rock GDP grew 10.0% and the Fayetteville GDP grew 34.4%

Keeping to those current rates..

Little Rock: 2021: 41575.6 2026: 45733m 2031: 50306 2036: 55337

Fayetteville: 2021: 35970 2026: 48344 2031: 64975 2036: 87326

Not to mention, during the past 5 years the Fayetteville metro area has shown consistent growth whereas the Little Metro has had a decline and inconsistent growth.

The US GDP as a whole from 2011 to 2016 grew 19.6% during the 5 year period.
