Talent: Tennessee
Coaching: Missouri
Win League: Arkansas

Arkansas will be fun to watch. Hope they lose to see their fans self destruct.

We had a similar problem under Petrino...Not down to 69 but there was less than 10 players from one full recruiting class when CBB took over. I think it might have been 2012 class

LOL at bragging about playing good defense only against weak OOC opponents. Look at the conference stats, they provide a better picture because the talent is more comparable.

I don't think anybody is doing that...Pretty sure if you watched our last 5 games we dominated or was in every game with a close loss. 4 of the 5 were SEC and all were ranked when we played them. And the 5th being Big XII in a bowl game. They picked up 59 yards total for the game and 30 on their last drive in the closing minutes

Hmmm obviously you didn't drill down and see that our defense was much better in Oct, Nov than it was in Aug/Sept. I know you want it to be true but the fact is your defense was barely in the top 25 even against this daunting schedule!

People get too wrapped up recruiting rankings and the like.

We have more talent than people think. Pinkel is a good coach, but hes not some savant that is out there winning all of these games with a team loaded full of scrubs.

I agree to a point, but when's the last time anyone won the SEC without highly ranked classes? I can't remember. Such teams are often good enough to win their division, but they never win the SECCG. Arkansas, South Carolina, MSU and Missouri are all examples.

However, I shouldn't have said Missouri can't do it, because I think they can. Recruiting rankings are not everything, but there's usually one team that has just a little too much to overcome.

Credit to Missouri for taking advantage of it, but that really might be one of the worst SEC schedules I've ever seen. A side from some of MSU's & VU's in years past. Which of course goes with out saying.

That being said, I'd take it this season in a heart beat.

Here's how Mizzou's defense did agains SEC opponents.

Total offense in conference play:

South Carolina - 454 yards per game at 6 yards per play

Georgia - 436 YPG at 6.4 YPP

Florida - 338 YPG at 4.9 YPP

Vandy - 257 YPG at 4.3 YPP

Kentucky - 359 YPG at 5 YPP

Texas A&M - 422 YPG at at 5.8 YPP

Tennessee - 363 YPG at 4.9 YPP

Arkansas - 354 YPG at 5 YPP

Alabama - 451 YPG at 6.4 YPP

SEC offenses against Mizzou:

South Carolina - 338 yards at 4.3 YPP. That's a difference from their conference total offense of 96 yards and 2.1 YPP

Georgia - 379 yards at 4.4 YPP. That's 57 yards and 2 YPP less than their conference average.

Florida - 283 yards at 3.6 YPP. 65 yards and 1.3 YPP less than average.

Vandy - 240 yards at 4.1 YPP. 17 yards and .2 YPP less than average.

Kentucky - 258 yards and 3.6 YPP. 101 yards and 1.4 YPP less than average.

Texas A&M - 341 yards at 5.4 YPP. 81 yards and .4 YPP less than average.

Tennessee - 279 yards and 4.2 YPP. 84 yards and .7 YPP less than average.

Arkansas - 288 yards at 4.8 YPP. 76 yards and .2 YPP less than average.

Alabama - 504 yards at 6.6 YPP. 53 yards and .2 yards more than average.

Mizzou held the offenses of all our conference opponents but one to less than their conference averages. Most were significantly less.

6 of your 8 conference games were in Oct/Nov so you agree the conference stats cover when you were playing your best ball?

Dobbs is being mentioned in almost every publication coming out as one of the best up amd coming QBs in the country. I haven't seen Allen mentioned in one.

How long can one use the "up and coming" label? Isn't Dobbs a junior? Is Maty Mauk up and coming? Just wondering because we can certainly do a head to head with them if you would like?
