You have to give it to Missouri. They have been a contender in the east since their arrival.

I think you mean since their 2nd season in.

None of them have a real shot to win the league. Tennessee has the most talent, followed by Arky/Ole Miss, but it won't matter. Mizzou will probably win the godawful East by default and get waxed by the West team in the SECCG. Again.

Bottom line: If Mizzou were in the West, they'd be the 6th best team. At best. Sorry to burst your little bubble.

Westest is the bestest.

No doubt.

We did you a solid there but it was definitely worth it. Y'all helped us get rid of Dooley.

Oh come on, they beat the team that shut LSU and Ole Miss out, and stomped A&M. They would have been 4th at least.

I think we could do it, but I think it's extremely unlikely.

SEC media and fans have grossly underrated Missouri, but at the same time, Missouri's too lacking in talent to actually win the SEC, imo. There's a difference between having the talent to win your division and winning the entire SEC, as Arkansas and SC fans know so well.

Ole Miss doesn't have as much talent as everyone thinks and that's pretty much all they have.

Tennessee always has the talent and they're always given a chance to win it all. And yet, they always disappoint and struggle to have a winning season, so that doesn't give me much reason to pick them.

This just isn't true. We haven't had this much talent since Fulmer was recruiting hot and every bit of it is young. And we haven't been given a chance to win it all in ages.

People get too wrapped up recruiting rankings and the like.

We have more talent than people think. Pinkel is a good coach, but hes not some savant that is out there winning all of these games with a team loaded full of scrubs.

Im not going to look it up, but I believe we had the 2nd or 3rd most players drafted last year in the league.

No question. Some of the dolts around here and in the media just regurgitate recruiting rankings when talking about team talent without actually looking at the actual players on a team. They then act all surprised when a team like Mizzou wins the East back to back.

My ranking was by talent. Ole Miss and Tennessee will both have far more and far higher draft picks than by Arkansas.

Ranked by coaching:

Mizzou
Arkansas

Ole Miss/ Tennessee

Ranked by best chance to win their division (lol at any of them winning the league):

Tennessee
Mizzou

Ole Miss

Arkansas

I don't really blame them. Its tough not to. Guys who haven't played yet, you just don't know. What else do you have to go on other than recruiting rankings. The reason they are an inexact science, not worthless mind you but hit and miss, is that a lot of players slip through the cracks for whatever reason. Small school, didn't attend recruiting camps, etc. Its also just incredibly difficult to know how kids will develop. Rankings do have merit because if you look at the kids that play early they are usually the higher ranked guys.

I think, at some point though, you have to give a guy credit who continually makes them look silly. We always look better on post season lists compared to preseason lists. We always finish higher than our recruiting rank. Always send way more kids to the pros than our recruiting rank would suggest.

Our 13 team was absolutely loaded with pro talent.

Its easy and convenient to do, that's really the crux of it at the end of the day.
