didn't want to bump an arrest thread or really create a new thread, but FYI, the bullshite charges against RSJ have officially been dropped. Hopefully it won't affect our Fulmer Cup points since the offseason is officially concluded.

He should press charges against the CSPD for wrongful arrest.

Jeez what is that about?
We need to send CSPD to a conference to learn how to be a team player. Or force them all out and restock with Aggies.

I think Kennedy Reynolds and Pope are starting to separate from the pack a bit as our three big time targets. Reynolds had a few tough drops but it seems like he's always open. Pope's emergence has been nice to see

All 3 have been big time. From what I could tell at the game on Saturday, it looked like Speedy was getting double teamed every play.

Keep in mind Speedy missed a game and was limited.
I still think RSJ is our best player on offense. Maybe he's not quite there, but its not going to be long before he's a top 10 pick and chasing Mike's records.

Yeah, Speedy didn't look his usual self. He will break out for a really good game sooner or later I bet. Gotta get healed up first.

Eh, not really. They mixed it up some but played an awful lot of cover-4 which gives little help on the outside receivers. Speedy was just limited. He's the guy that should be destroying it because the way to attack it is through outside receivers.
We ripped them pretty good when they tried sliding into the cover-2 because their LBs simply weren't capable of covering our slot guys. Cover-4 essentially fans out the LBs underneath with the two outside backers (or nickel as most teams use now) having the flat on each side. The safeties start shallow and pinch into the middle to help on those crossing routes (LBs underneath and safeties on top) and go with the inside guys over the top. It's essentially bracket coverage on the slots.
This leaves the outside guys on islands a lot and Kenny just struggled with that some. He hit Pope on the long bomb and should have had Reynolds on the post but underthrew it. That's what the defense they ran leaves mostly and those sort of plays were there all day. We just didn't execute it well on those throws. It was a good game plan by them because Kenny has been fairly inconsistent with the deep ball.
IMO Spav needs to work on attacking cover-4 because it's the obvious defense vs us right now. MSU runs some of this and I do expect it this week. Cover-4 is hard to blitz out of though and they like to blitz (when they do they often play cover-2 or man behind it). At this point I'd rather them come after us honestly.

If they run cover 4, why not bash them with the Rhino, then go no-huddle so they can't sub?
Posted on 9/30/14 at 5:52 pm to CGSC Lobotomy
they can sub if we sub. If we put the 23 package out there, they can sub to match it.
