Will they lose it?

Both Idaho and Florida have a Bye Week on October 25th, so it makes sense they would reschedule yesterday's terminated rain game for that weekend, right?

Game was terminated. They won't play it. Too much $$ for Idaho to travel again. They got paid, Florida got ticket sales and everyone is happy

Either way you slice it; it ends up as a bye week. Idaho is pretty bad.

Logically the game should be rescheduled during their common by week. But heck a tuneup game with a weak opponent like Idaho might actually help them get ready for our game.

So, everyone else has to play 12 games......and Florida only has to play 11?

Can't be.

I'd rather have the bye week. Especially before WLOCP.

Wonder why they didn't just play today. It's a long weekend anyway. Heck, Tennessee plays today.

ESPNU saying Idaho AD says two options: 1) Find new date to pick up game from scratch, not on 14-yard line. 2) Call game "no contest."

"If the game is rescheduled, then it would be restarted as a new game," Florida said in a statement. "That determination will be made and announced at a later time." The two teams do share a bye week on October 25.
No excuse to not reschedule it...

Here's to hoping they decide to schedule it that week to make sure they reach bowl eligibility this year

If this happens, and Muschamp starts piling up losses again this year, that's one easy game he won't have in the Win column to make his record look better.

Say he loses 6 games. His record will be 5 - 6. That's a losing season. Versus 6 - 6 if he has the easy Idaho win.

I don't know.

No matter what though, it's a weird vibe to start your season off with.

It'd be different if it was cancelled in advance, but the way it happened where they waited around all day for nothing would be frustrating.

Florida got ticket sales

Really? When a game is called they don't refund the cost of the tickets? I mean...you pay for a game that didn't happen and so the fan just loses?

Well...you don't HAVE to play 12, I believe. You can play 11. But, I would think it would hurt your chances of getting into the playoff....and certainly a tiebreaker for a division championship, maybe?

IIRC when Katrina hit and games along the gulf were canceled, most of them were just played at the end of the regular season either the week of the conference championship games or the week before depending on the last original scheduled game.

Reading from Gator posters around the site - seems like most of them are opposed to a reschedule for whatever reason. They could've just played it today, or before the bye week. I feel like it should count against you if you choose to opt out of a game you had the opportunity to reschedule, but whatever. Not that I blame them for being scared. They're going to need that bye week.
