Were Bobby Bowden and Tom Osborune over rated for 20 years?

And you have to admit Georgia fans and Richt did make asses out of themselves last year petitioning that you deserved to be in the NC game without even winning the East. That was over the top.

Admit what? That's a wornout lie on this board that no one has yet to back up. Richt said he thinks you should have to win your conference, but the rules didn't stipulate that. So how in the world you people consider that "whining" is laughable.

The only difference those caught breaks with other teams losing, unfortunately for Richt in 2002, there were 2 undefeated BCS teams so he didn't get a shot at the title.

Wow, there is another reasonable poster on here. I was giving up hope. Yes, anyone on here that says Richt sucks or is overrated, when UGA has the exact same record as LSU over the past 6 seasons clearly knows nothing about football to begin with.

LSU has been very fortunate during their two title runs that the cards fell in their favor. My Dawgs and '04 Auburn weren't as lucky.

I find it mind blowing that people don't (or won't) recognize how many circumstances beyond a coaches control go into winning a BCS title. In 04 Auburn started about were Ohio State did in 2002 and LSU did in 2003. Hell, if the BCS was around in 96, SOS would not have a NC. And we won't even get into last year

Can you read? That's what people say. Until you win it all, on your own, you never get total respect. Bobby Bowden was known as a good coach that always choked in the big game. Remember? Look at Ohio State, they won a NC with one of the biggest upsets in college football a few years back. But look what is happening to them now. Thier only saving grace is having won an NC. Without that they would be known as the Buffalo Bills of College Football. Until you win it you don't get total respect.

did we or did we not have the same record as you going into the sec championship last year? there are other factors like who wins and loses around you. you guys beat the right teams and got the breaks and deserved to be where you were. richt agreed that the sec champ should go but also said it wasnt a rule and that we could go as well. seriously, and i didnt wanna say this bc i know ill get bashed, but richt is a better coach than mr. miles

Richt' first season had some terrible clock managment moments vs Auburn and BC in the bowl.Other than that,he's been tremendous. His 2002 team was as good as Ohio State and Miami ,IMO, and they were as good as Ohio State last fall .

I've been surprised at the 'off field' trouble this year, but honestly,he is as good of a coach in the SEC as anyone.

is a #13 team over a #3 team in their only head to head match-up good enough for you?

i'm not defending it either way, because there are tons of factors in dealing with which coach is better than the other.

personally, i think richt is the right fit in athens and i think miles is the right fit in baton rouge, and i dont think either fan base would be willing to trade coaches with each other.

you asked for a "link" of evidence that richt is a "better coach" than miles, so i supplied one that i thought would help richt's case in that argument. in turn, you could post a national championship link.

i just took you asking for a "link" in something that you knew was an opinion as a little "smartassy" so i just tried to return the favor in fun.

fair enough?

So,Jim Harbaugh is a better coach than Pete Carroll ? I mean, a 41 pt underdog vs the then #1 team in the coaches' poll. Using your logic,he must be 5x better.

You are one funny little dude. I've got children who are probably as old as you. You are either eaten up with stupidity or did not watch any television following the SEC Championship game.

Mark Richt has a good win/loss record but so do a lot of other coaches who are not on that list. He does not deserve to be in the "elite" category until he can take all those top recruiting classes and win the big one. My guess is that, once again, ya'll will drop several early and come on late. This will lead to more whining and bitching about being the strongest team in the county and pointing to the pre-season #1 ranking.

not sure if you were talking to me but you probably do have children older than me. and because of that, your opinion definitely counts more and you definitely know more about college football than i do

ha worst thread ever. you are just dumb. i dont care if im biased but this is absolutely ridiculous. cant remember richt underperforming. losing to wvu in the sugar bowl maybe but he was there after doing what in the sec championship and against who? he is top 3 in the sec easily. you are dumb and i dont care about respecting your opinion cse i dont

It was posed as a question, not a statement. I'm asking if he doesn't win, is he overrated? You refer to someone you've never met as dumb for posing a legit question. I'll buck onions with your non punctuating, misspelling arse any day, you fricking homer.

If he doesn't win it this year, is he overrated? Obviously everyone feels he's got the most talented team, as they're number 1 in both the major polls.

Top three? Name the top three? Urban, Miles, Spurrier, Fulmer and Saban have all won the big game. Did I miss the year that Richt did it?

Richt is a better coach for TV interviews then Coach Miles. Coach Miles is a better all around football coach then Richt.

and i will name the top three as urban, richt, and miles in no order. not talking all time so spurrier gets left off as does fulmer. im talking today and those are the three best. as for saban, i just dont think hes that great of a coach. i know hes won the big one, but i think some people would agree.
