Everyone's anointed UGA as the team that should win it all. If they don't, it will either be because of being outcoached or injuries.

Where does he rank among SEC coaches? I believe he's 6th or 7th.

Get's a ton of talent but average coach. Always guaranteed to fall short of annual overblown expectations. Watching the replay of the 03 SECCG reminds me of what it feels like to beat the supposed "best of the SEC" like a drum.

Huh? Richt's teams have won two SEC Championships (2002 and 2005) and three SEC Eastern Division titles (2002, 2003, and 2005), represented the SEC in 3 BCS bowl appearances (which he is 2-1 in) along with five AP Poll top ten finishes from 2002-2005, 2007. Average?

Richt is a good coach, I think this season we will see if he moves on to "great" coach. I think the schedule works against UGA, but they do have a shot.

Frankly, I hope UGA is undefeated when they come to Auburn and we hang 50 on them....lol, we need some payback for the last 2 arse whippings we have gotten from them

You are correct and if anything, he may be the most UNDERRATED coach.

LSU fans really are the biggest babies of the conference. No wonder every school hates you guys.

How overrated was Richt the last two times he faced LSU blew your asses out?

Until he wins a BCS Championship he will be overrated. This is the SEC where National Championships are won.

Can't the same be said until Miles and Cryer win it all with their OWN players?

There are currently 5 active SEC coaches, who have won National Championships. In any ranking system based on actual accomplishments, Richt would have to fall below any of them, including Phat Phil. Now if whining to the media were taken into consideration, then Richt's ranking would dramatically increase.

There's a nifty little invention called GOOGLE and, for that matter, YOUTUBE. You'll have no problem finding the whiney little bitch complaining about being the best team in the country and being left out. While you are at it take a look at the little display put on by your school's administration and legislators.

Richt is far from overrated. Saban on the other hand has had 1 great season in his entire coaching career.

Toledo: 9-2 left after 1 year
Michigan State: 6-5-1, 6-6, 7-5, 6-6, 10-2
LSU: 8-4, 10-3, 8-5, 13-1, 9-3
Miami Dolphins: 9-7, 6-10

Total record: 99-48-1
Bowl record: 5-5

Richt's record 72-19
Bowl record 5-2

Richt would have to go 17-29 to equal Saban's current record, not going to happen. He's already won more bowl games.

I think he is a good coach in a league of Great coaches. To be considered Great in the SEC you have to hoist the Crystal Ball.

5 coaches in the league have won NC's and Tubby was screwed out of a chance to play for one IMO

Figured you couldn't back up your lie, and the label still stands. Now go play hide 'n seek with the neighborhood kids. You've got school in the morning

I like Richt personally and think he is a great coach. But Georgia usually gets a case of Clemsonitis every year and folds like a cheap tent at critical moments. And you have to admit Georgia fans and Richt did make asses out of themselves last year petitioning that you deserved to be in the NC game without even winning the East. That was over the top.

His best season, 2002, matches the best record Saban, Spurrier and Meyer have posted. The only difference those caught breaks with other teams losing, unfortunately for Richt in 2002, there were 2 undefeated BCS teams so he didn't get a shot at the title.
