This is the first time in history UM and MSU fans came to a consensus on any topic. Our AD’s appeared together on the local radio to push against this bill. I think we agree gun control is BS, but fans don’t need them in a stadium surrounded by armed security. It’s good to see unity on an important topic, but I still have to throw in a GTH.

Sankey made the same stupid arguments when Arkansas was toying with allowing CC in stadiums here.

That tells you it's what the conference presidents all want. Guns on campus is stupid as hell - a disaster waiting to happen.

This is nothing more than a "cover your arse" letter by a bureaucrat. The letter has no point or subject to the matter, he is opining.

If I was either president I would respond: "Are you gonna send your national guard to help us march on Jackson to overthrow the government?

Sankey can go ahead and eat the terrible Alabama Catfish. We shall keep all of the Mississippi Catfish!

I guarantee you that both presidents are glad Sankey is saying this. No university wants guns on campus.

Not the point. This letter is doing nothing more than telling each president how HE feels and how HE will sway the SEC chancellors if the bill is passed. Sankey knows the presidents have no vote in the MS senate, so he is pandering for his own political agenda. Got everyone up in here riled up for no reason, he wrote his opinion as wimp hiding behind the tank that is the SEC.

There is an argument to be made that you agree to not carry a firearm into a ticketed event. Carry them outside all you want. Attending a football game is not a right, and you aren’t guaranteed to any rights once you’re inside.

I don’t think allowing guns in the stadium is a good idea but how many incidents have you heard of perpetrated by someone with a CC permit? It’s the criminals and the nutjobs you need to worry about.

That's what I was saying. When California and I think New York said they were no longer doing business with Mississippi, the Mississippi state officials just said "Ok. Good."

Georgia already has this law.

Many... MANY courts disagree with you.

In fact, Utah has been forced to allow concealed guns in their stadium for over a decade.........
