Mullen may be on all of the watch lists now for HC, but few would have given him the time MSU did. Few fanbases would have been as patient. Say what you want, but tis true.

Um...because you were the worst team in the conference with Vandy. So no. Your success and continued success is the limit for any coach as Miss State. It's literally impossible to win a national title there.

It's why no one has...at anything.

Mullen got extra time at MSU because recruiting is shitty because it is a shite school that players don't want to play at. Therefore, he was given a pass for a long time.

I'm much more impressed by what Pinkel did with 3 Star players than what Mullen has done.

But that's just like my opinion man.

This is a stupid post.

If Mullen went to Alabama, LSU, Auburn, Georgia, and Florida he wouldn’t have done bad at all because he wouldn’t have had to rebuild

Every other school would have kept him just like MSU did to give him time to rebuild

No question. I honestly can't figure out why beating LSU all the sudden makes him comparable to Saban (basically a thread from earlier this week). MSU looks pretty solid this year but I think Mullen has done less with more in a few of his seasons there.

shite, on this site I have seen half of State's fan base want him gone before. I never understood that. He has taken State to 7 straight bowls and won 5 of them. They shouldn't have gone to one last year, but he won it when they played. I know he does some stupid stuff from time to time, but he has built State into a respectable program and had them ranked #1 for a while a few years ago and I never thought that was possible.

No, miss states expectations couldn't in any way have lead to Mullens firing. Plus he walked into a terrible situation.

A&M kept Franchione for 2 years after his 2005 season and EXTENDED HIM after the 2004 season, when A&M lost to Baylor for the first time in 20 years and had the worst bowl loss in its history (until Franchione topped it 2 years later).

He lost to South Alabama at home in year 8. Sorry but that can't be waived away w/a magic "but Moo State" wand.

Mullen averages Kentucky's highest winning season in the last 30 years. MSU has been far from a bottom program in the SEC since Dan showed up. A whole bunch of you are dinosaurs with how you view State which isn't surprising since all but a handful of other SEC programs aren't still stuck in decades past glory.

And he's a whopping 2-33 against teams that finished ranked.
