Did The NFL/ESPN Ruin Thursday Night College Football?

For a few years we used to get some good games on Thursday night, now the NFL has a game and the college lineup is typically garbage. Anybody else miss a good matchup on Thursday to start the weekend, or do you see it as a fad that just came and went?

We were talking about this at work yesterday. Yeah, it sucks.

I enjoy college football on Thursday nights. I watched one NFL game last year and part of the last Saints game. I'm done with the NFL for this year.

I usually don't watch an NFL game until December when it gets somewhat interesting. I definitely don't care about a game on Thursday night in September.

ESPN has done a pretty good job of ruining everything that made them must-see-tv for the last 20 years.

Now they have a game? NFL has been on Thursdays since 2006.

Not sure how much of this can be laid on ESPN. Solid programs don't want to play on Thursday.

I don't remember there being many good Thursday night games, at least between good teams.

No. The ACC sucks. When that conference was good, we watched great Thursday matchups.

They are rapidly becoming the MTV of sports.

Seems like the NFL used to only start Thursday night games once college wound down, if I remember correctly.

I don't watch NFL unless it's the Steelers, so no.

Espn was once a beloved sports Oasis. Now it's barely anything more than a political propaganda mouth piece. frick ESPN.

Thursday was home to Big East battles between Rutgers, West Virginia, & Louisville.
Mix in a few Big 12 games with Okie St & Texas Tech and that was about all I remember about decent Thursday night games.
I want to A&M got stuck playing Miami on a Thursday night. I guess it's okay on occasion, but I never want to take away a Saturday home game at Kyle.

The last Thursday night college game I remember is when LSU destroyed Mississippi State in Starkville

ESPN could match us up against the Jets or the Colts this year and put it on Thursday night. We would be a pickum game against the Colts but we would be a favorite against the Jets.
