So he's referencing the claim made before, not with new, or ANY, evidence?

I'm soap-boxing for a minute but that is utter bullshite- 650k- for a 18 year old. Like I needed another reason to hate college football right now.

All I got out of that is that Mississippi State will be the next one going down because if he turned down 650k from LSU it must have taken 7 figures to get him to Starkville

At some point you idiots will read up on some shite before giving an opinion (hopefully). The NCAA opened and closed an investigation on that and found nothing. It's over. State is not going on probation regarding Leo Lewis. You don't know what you're talking about.

The NCAA made it clear that they didn't believe one word his mother said.

I can easily see her telling LSU they could get him for that amount and then telling other people that LSU offered it, but there is no way anyone pays NFL signing bonus type money for a high school linebacker. To even suggest it is delusional.

$650k for an inside linebacker, even spread over 5 years, seems absurdly high.

Here you go , pankreb. Somebody finally quoting your boy Godfrey and his story on Leo Lewis:

quote:

And there is reason to believe $650,000 is close to the truth. I checked with the story's author, Steven Godfrey, and he said confirmed the figure wasn't a typo on his part or the person transcribing the testimony.

See how stupid it still sounds?

Confirmed Godfrey's assertions with..........Godfrey

We didn't give Cam Newton 180k like Auburn did but you think we gave LL almost 4x that.

State doesn't piss off the wrong people in recruiting. When we get stupid enough to steal out of state recruits from blue blood programs we will get the Ole Miss treatment from the NCAA. No one up there gives a shite that MSU is recruiting in the top 30 every year and outbid people for MS recruits.

LSU just got confused. They thought they were paying $650k to send Larry Leo to Mississippi State.

This.

Godfrey is delusional, Dodd is delusional and anyone that would believe freaking back-woods Boosters from the south are throwing this kind of cash around for unproven HS players are delusional.

And if you believe LSU offered LL 650k and he turned it down to go to Moo State then you are a complete idiot.

LL isn't nearly a good enough player for a college to offer him that kind of money.

I guess it's a good thing that I don't believe that then....his mom was trying to squeeze everything she could out of Ole Miss. No one offered that kid 650K

These people think the SEC is doing shite like the SWC of the late 70s / early 80s back when Craig James killed five hookers at SMU.

I could at least believe a bidding war for Cam. This guy, though? Not so much.
