The evidence is too overwhelming, with the myriad of accounts, too numerous and conspicuous. It can be a death blow. If there is any clemency from the NCAA, it will set a different precedent, going forward.

Basically he had no idea when the meeting took place. The times don't add up. The booster has email sent from his work computer that are time stamped and adding the distant there is no way they could have happened in the way that Lewis is stating.

Oh yeah, this is rock solid. No way to get around this.

Seriously, people fake office time with emails to get an afternoon off from work, you don't think someone paying thousands of dollars to flaky 18 year olds would be careful to cover their tracks?

I know your all racists. But come on you should be able to tell the difference between certain players. I mean even the daughters of your rich white alumni only need photos from their daddies of which recruits to take home on recruiting trips.

More like, I live in God's Country and only fly over your state when necessary. Hard to see anyone from thirty-six thousand feet.

Don't follow Ole Miss or MSU, obviously. Except when I watched TCU absolutely throttle Ole Miss in the Peach Bowl. Just know about that guy knocking around some poor woman because I saw a .GIF of it.

Though your lack of remedial grammar skills -- it's "you're" not "your" -- is obviously indicative of one of the worst educational schools systems in the country.

Maybe you should worry more about learning how to write at a third-grade level, and less about who sleeps with whom.

NCAA getting a player to lie to protect themselves. This is new.

Oh wait. No it's not.

Lester Earl issues apology to LSU

NCAA is destined to fall apart and be subjugated to numerous lawsuits. It's a matter of time

The ncaa has been and will be sued by individuals for some time now. Schools can't sue them and no they aren't going anywhere. They have more than enough money to pay damages to those who win their cases.

It is the whole amendment to the NOA. The hole 2 year bowl ban and the addition to the self imposed penalties. If his testimony is thrown out, we get what we have already self imposed.

Wrong again.

No, the claim is that Barney lied to OM and the NCAA and acted on his own volition.

It also makes a great case that the LOIC and charges on Freeze should be dropped.

He wasn't acting alone.

They won't be dropped.

Freeze knew how much Barney "poured" into those recruiting classes.

The Rebel defense of this situation reminds me of the City of Cleveland.

For years and years people made fun of Cleveland for being dirty and nasty. Clevelanders fought this rep, and spent millions of dollars promoting a new image for their city.
Then their freakin river caught ON FIRE

Ole Miss isn't in this position because of unfounded stereotypes. The entire college football world can see that Oxford is/was filthy.

Good luck cleaning up after this fire

At the end of the day, Ole Miss is doing what they have to do. I'm starting to believe that we probably did approach the idea of firing Freeze for lesser penalties and were told or advised that the penalties would be the same regardless. If that is the case, it would make sense to try and keep the coach that the players committed to playing for and trying to fight off an additional year of a bowl ban. If you are going to try and protect Freeze, there has to be a scapegoat. Where we screwed up is not paying off Farrar to keep quiet and take the blame. I see why Farrar and his lawyer want to fight this, but at the end of the day he was the one that was really careless. There was zero chance that he was going to survive it all. This is just a guess on my part, but I'm assuming the alumni who were going to take care of Barney are also the ones who are being disassociated with the school so now they have no reason to spend money to protect the school and pay Barney. Which again, big screw up on our part.

The NCAA should probably give some leeway with the Lewis deal, if anyone has any motivation to hurt Ole Miss it would be someone like him.
If Leo or MSU is not willing to talk that charge should be stricken.

I wonder how much MSU paid because LSU thought they had Lewis!
