Playing qb behind Bama's line?

I mean hurts did it, and that kid has no business throwing a football. How hard can handing the ball off, throwing short routes and long 50/50 balls? He reminds me of Nick Marshall

Bama's OL was extremely inconsistent this year though. And no I don't think very many if any here were/are capable of being a starting QB in any P5 school.

Bama bias only explanation why that dude won that award.

If he's qb for anyother team and had same exact stats he's not even in the conversation.

Why do people think Bama still has its 2012 OL? The OL hasn't been that good.

Probably had more to do with everyone else being 8-4 and Bama being undefeated and Hurts breaking all kinds of Bama records along the way.

Nick Marshall was pretty damn good in that offense.

If Bama had such a good OL, we would have controlled the ball, given our defense a rest, and won the title game by double digits.

But instead...

Kiffin didn't do him any favors with the plays he was calling. He had him scared to throw across the middle and downfield. He got worse as the year went on, in part due to the play calling/coaching.

Barnett was the much better passer of the two young QB's, and he could run some too. Too bad he quit like a little beotch.

A lot of blame falls on CNS because he's never wanted to play two QB's enough to have one really ready to be back-up, and this year we wound up starting a TR FR because he was more athletic than the others.

Considering all the talent we've had CNS should have two or three more titles than he does. No excuse to have all that talent and only have 1 undefeated team in his entire career either.

Nobody is above criticism, even Nick Saban. But to say that there is "no excuse" to have failed to win more national championships in clearly the GREATEST RUN IN MODERN CFB HISTORY is pretty bold.

Jeebus, Hurts had the best passer rating and QBR of a true freshman receiver in the history of college football outside of Terrell Pryor. He's got work to do, but this LOL at this narrative that he was basically Spencer Pennington.

But yeah, that was all due to his slightly above average offensive line.

LOL Wut. Yea, anything short of 6 national titles in 8 years is a failure.

The problem with Bama's offense is we did almost everything pretty good, and nothing spectacular. Add to that the inconsistency (f*ing penalties), and that meant we almost never had ball controll and long drives.

Very few teams out there could expose that weakness. Even Clemson gave up 31 points to us. But by the fourth quarter, with no help from the offense to keep them off the field, our outstanding defense turned into an incredibly vulnerable one.

Plus, we finished #128 out of 128 teams in opponent's penalties. Hard to imagine a defense like ours wasn't causing some holding somewhere.

Since CNS arrived we've finished at or near the bottom of this category about 75% of the time. I'd like to see what the next closest school is to that number over that same period.

Just because our OL is better than L6U's does not mean it was a great one.
