FWIW, nobody on this site is saying this. This thread is about missed calls against LSU, and Bama fans come in here and throw fits because that's exactly what we are talking about.

he grabbed and turned him
it was ticky tack, but he did grab and turn him
officials look for players getting turned, it is one of their keys to look for

He fits in with whiny LSU fans bigleague.

Ed O should just take the whole team to eat burnt toast and prune juice for breakfast.

quote:I saw some missed/sketchy calls and no calls once the game started. I just chalked it up to the refs "letting 'em play ball", as there were a few missed calls for both teams.
I'm aware that there are plenty of missed calls in every game
I don't think there is any vast conspiracy to help Bama either
but I'll point out missed calls in an LSU game, which is what this thread is about
That battle was a freaking slobber-knocker of epic proportions. The first team to score was going to win the damn game.
It is what it is, we as fans can either enjoy that old school football that we never see anymore and appreciate it for what it is or we can bitch, moan, and groan over penalties and missed calls.
I chose to rewatch that game last night and I saw two of the best defenses in the country fighting like grown arse men. That was fine football - the rest of the country were bored stiff and I loved every minute of it.

There was a pretty obvious intentional grounding on Etling with about a minute left in the second quarter. Wasn't called.
It definitely could've been called. Etling took the snap on the right hash. The pocket moved to the left a bit then Etling rolled to the right and threw it away. The ref must not have paid attention to the RT's starting position. He was out of the box that was created but not the original tackle box. We got one there.

im from the old school Bill Parcells school of thought- you are what you are. At the end of every game, their is a loser and a winner, deal with it
no blaming injuries, refs, etc. I always cringe when fans bitch on WHY their team was screwed and should have won the game. Bama was the better team. We need to deal with it and move on or Arkansas is going to whip our arse

You just repeated what he said
No, I didn't. Unless by "starts the slide" he means the point when the knee or hip hits the ground. I took it to mean when the player starts to go down. There's a difference.

They called a penalty that was actually a penalty. That shouldn't be some kind of fricking tooth fairy visit.

The only thing I would like an explanation on is the non intentional grounding call when Hurts was in the endzone.
