The SEC is going to pay South Alabama and Presbyterian the buyouts (2 million is pocket change to the conference). They may be able to negotiate a lesser buyout by allowing South Alabama and Presbyterian to play each other and host the game on the SEC Network.

They are going to move the A&M/LSU game from the last Thursday to Saturday.

This makeup plan obviously hurts LSU a hell of a lot more than it does UF so LSU fans will bitch about it for eternity.

The End.

Hey dummy! What about the millions of dollars in ticket sales, concessions, parking...

You think the sec is paying for that too?

Nah, LSU won't agree to that unless someone sends us a check for at least $4million.

And that doesn't even make the BR economy whole.

Florida created the mess, if anyone is going to be financially hurt by this, it should be them... Not LSU, not Georgia, not A&M, not Arkansas... This is Florida's shite pile to clean up.

Not going to happen. 19th is senior night to many people have made plans to come, and spent money to attend the game for their children on senior night

the SEC cannot force LSU to cancel an OOC game. That is not within the powers of the commissioner. And paying South Alabama's buyout is a fraction of the revenue LSU would be losing by canceling that game. Yes moving the A&M game is a start, but there are many more financial assurances that have to be made.

South Alabama is a decent team though. Florida scheduled Presbyterian even with their schedule.

LSU holds all the cards... SEC can change SEC scheduling, but has no say on OOC games.

Unless of course they wanna pony up the $5-$15 million, then we can talk.

Either is it played on the 19th or not at all.

Plus the way south Alabama is playing, LSU might not want to play them....

LSU will agree because if they don't agree it's almost impossible for them to win the West.

If LSU refuses and they finish 6-1 behind 7-1 Alabama, they'll be left out in the cold and look pretty stupid or refusing the make up plan.

Is a game against South Alabama worth throwing away an SEC Championship opportunity?

South and Presbyterian should.play I Tiger Stadium.

L5u fans have said they just want to watch football games. This way they could come to town support the local community watch some football.

Hell they could also bing in and show the UF game on big screens in the stadium

I agree to this scenario any LSU fan who thinks LSU should make demands is being foolish and should wipe their vaginas with sand paper. This plays into our favor by having two off weeks. Don't give me the economy and revenue as concern. Stack that November schedule and run the gauntlet. This will give us a clear direction to how good CEO is and how to move forward.

LSU losing a home game for a natural disaster that hit Florida would be completely unprecedented in the history of modern sports.

When has an away team ever lost a home game due to a natural disaster that hit the opposing teams stadium?

It's a complete non starter

As nice as it was to see LSU do what they should against Mizzou and roll them. LSU isn't winning out. So no worry about SEC Championship hopes

If LSU beats Ole Miss, Joe will agree to this. If Ole Miss beats LSU he will tell them to get fricked.

LSU has allowed only 5 touchdowns all season, which leads the SEC and ranks No. 2 nationally.

That is asking a lot for lsu players to play 3 road games in 13 days. There is not enough time for these guys' body to heal.

Put another way

A hurricane hits Florida and causes UF game to be postponed. To fix this:

Florida loses a football game
Presbyterian loses a football game
South Alabama loses a football game
LSU loses a football game
LSU loses a home football game

In what world does that make sense? The hurricane didn't hit us. Why are we penalized? We had two hurricanes hit during a football season and managed to play every game, including 10 straight games without a bye week and a home game moved to opposing stadium.

frick Florida

Yeah, of all the fanbases in the country, bitching about losing a home game and game/local revenue while simultaneously having to 3 consecutive road games due the incompetentness of the other team is a "LSU fan" thing. Only a LSU fan would bitch about such circumstances.
