Because you don't have the RIGHT to play in the NFL or even college football for that matter. Your rights are only protected against governmental restriction. The NCAA is not a government entity, so they can have whatever rules they want (with certain governmental restrictions on them, of course). The football team is not a government entity, even if the school is by some nature due to how it is funded and administrated. Suggesting that the coach of an NCAA football team is infringing on someone's rights (any of them, not just right to bear arms) as defined by the BoR shows a blatant misunderstanding of how that document works.
Preach.

During my time at Auburn, it was nice to be able to walk around on campus and not worry about needing to defend myself with a gun for any reason. I understand it's a right, but all rights should be exercised with judgement, not recklessness. If someone decides that he/she needs to carry a gun for 'self-protection' at a place like Auburn University, I would question his/her intelligence and sanity.
I'm sure people thought the same thing on April 15th, 2007 in Blacksburg.
I carried most days when I was at school. Its gotten to the point where I feel like I left something when I don't carry.
I know the chances of me ever "needing" my pistol are extremely slim, but if I ever do "need" it I know I have it.
