No the decision sounds good.
I liked Col Reb. I agree with everything else though.

I like col. rebel as well. But in glad that he's gone. You can do both.
Just like I enjoyed Dixie but I'm not pissed off that they're not going to play it anymore.

I used to chant TSWRA when I was a student....just thinking about it makes me want to vomit. It's pretty amazing how much opinions can change over the years. I was a drunken horse's arse back at school, and I think I can speak for most of my retarded brethren in saying that the only reason the majority of students chanted that, was simply as a frick you to administration for telling us we can't do something. It's really sad that we weren't bright enough to think about the consequences of our actions. Dixie is such a moving song and always reminds me of football. I get the warm and fuzzys just thinking about it. frick me right in the mouth.

great take on this
I think it is stupid to get rid of the song, if anything, it creates more divisiveness

I've never understood so much love for a song that was written by an Ohioan who was living in New York that pretty much played on every southern stereotype that he could think of. It's more or less the same formula that's used today to peddle bro-country. Yes, it's a pretty tune, and yes, the band here played it particularly well. I listen to Elvis doing in pretty regularly in fact. But I'm not going to get bent out of shape about the school no longer playing it.
Even back in my youth when I was quite a bit more of a southern apologist, "Bonnie Blue Flag" always seemed to me to be quite a bit more of a homegrown affair than "Dixie."

Honestly I've gone to Ole Miss games my whole life and I never pay attention to the band.
Then what are you missing out on if you never noticed?

They did tell drunk college kids to stop doing it or it will be gone.
I blame the retards at the Library. If they had stopped yelling it there, then maybe they'd give it another shot. But no way in hell with all those drunk idiots yelling it there. It always pissed me off every night finishing up at the Library hearing 200 drunk assholes yelling TSWRA.
