They do not use it for acceptance, I do not know what they report. Composite scores are usually 2-3 point more.

Yes. They most certainly do.

ETA - for ITAT Puppet, who's likely never even seen AU's campus "In addition to an evaluation of core classes, Auburn will consider high school grade point average (GPA), highest composite ACT or SAT scores, and answers to essay questions."

The difference is not that high. It is typically 1 point.
