My dad was there. Got attacked after the game but was with some LSU friends who got him out of there.

Agree. Been a very even rivalry over the past 20 years at the least.
It really has.
LSU is 16-13-1 against Georgia.
What's insane is that we have only played 27 times

went back in 2008....what happened?
LSU was still evolving as a football power in 03. We had come out of a 11-season long period of subpar football, and started flexing its muscles under Saban. We were hungry and really thought the championships were about to come.
Jump forward to 2008. LSU already had 2 NC titles, and we realized that season we just didn't have the team to compete at a high level. That's the reason for the change in attitude.

I will read the rest of the thread after I comment.
Yes, I was there. My buddy and I decided to go on Thursday and bought a pair off a Georgia sports board. Left very early in the AM and drove the 8 hours and arrived around noon central time. I had been there once before so I knew to expect a warm but course reception.
As we approached campus to park, we were moving very slow in game traffic. We had a UGA flag and we were passing tons of enthusiastic LSU tailgates. Several children ((8-12 age range) came within 10 feet of our car yelling "Tiger bait" and a few were flipping us off. I didn't care as it just added to the excitement.
We parked beneath some trees about 3/4 mile from stadium among a bunch of other UGA fans. Had a beer or two and walked down to the basketball arena where I think ESPN was doing a game day if I recall. Some good natured ribbing and the LSU fans were cool. Boisterous but hospitable also.
Our seats were in the EZ among a sea of purple and yellow. Not another red shirt within 20 rows. Everyone was cool and we behaved like guests and had good conversations with those around us.
The game was a nail biter. Our FG kicker (Billy Bennett) who was money up until that game missed 3 very average attempts. David Greene got blasted in our EZ when we were backed up and the crowd was deafening. He had to leave the game for a series.
All looked lost. We were on the 10 on the far side of field from us. Greene tossed the little hitch to Tyson Browning and he cut inside the one block he needed to be sprung and ran right at me 90 yards to take the lead. Thought we had performed the impossible.
Then your QB connects on a 3rd down play at midfield where our safety slipped allowing (was it Skyler Green?) your WR to catch the ball on go to the EZ. Heartbreaking way to lose.
Your fans were gracious to us in victory on the way out. When we got back to our car, a bunch of Georgia fans cars had been vandalized but not ours. We were smart enough to put our UGA identifying things in the trunk. Idiots among every fan base so not something to criticize LSU about.
Before we left, we went to eat at some place close to where we parked. Had a group of LSU fans there. With them were two girls who made fun of our accents even though we were not talking. "Yall from jawga? Yall talk like thius. Why yall talk like thius?" I told my buddy you know you are on fantasy island when your accent is being made fun of by girls in Baton Rouge, La..
We ate and went back to the car and drove home. Got home about 8am Ga time.

First off Korin laughing at Aaron Murray being clutch...he was 3-1 against the Gaytors.
I was in the stadium. Up early and made it to game day. 12 years old, decked out in all red and I had a 40 year old man walk behind me for about a full minute yelling "Tiger B****" at me. Again I was 12.
Upper deck seats, and all I remember is David Greene getting harassed by LSU's front seven. Block in the back on the kick return after Browning TD. And the place went nuts after Green's TD. Felt good the following year to absolutely destroy LSU in Sanford.
Of the six games since then that these two have played, in games I have attended UGA is 3-0 (05 title, 08 at LSU, and 13 at UGA) and 1-3 in games i have not been there. (03 title, 04 at UGA, 09 at UGA, 11 title)

I think UGA had something like five drives inside the LSU territory in the first half and only got 3 points out of it. Obviously, that wasn't the only difference though. LSU's d-line had their way in both games.
Wish I could've been at this one. It's one of the few losses where I wouldn't mind watching a re-run at some point.

Correct. Bennett left 9 points off the board and I don't think one attempt was outside of 40 yards. Bennett had been automatic from that range the previous year and the first two games of that season. The two teams were very even that day but LSU went on a different track until we met again in Atlanta. They improved weekly where UGA just kind of stayed consistent. LSU had the far dominant team in December.
