Holy shite was that game epic. I had Georgia fans shaking my hand after the game saying the atmosphere was like nothing they had ever seen. They said they couldn't even get mad at the loss because the game was so electric.

How many of y'all were there?

Know anybody who went?

Tell some stories if you have any.

I was. By far the loudest moment I've heard in my life, football or otherwise. Anyone who says the swamp or bds or jh or clemson or whoever is the loudest stadium...clearly wasn't in baton rouge that day.

as for stories, it was...BY FAAAAAAAAR...the worst I've been treated at an opposing stadium. When I went back in 08 I was out for blood but it was the opposite, people couldnt' have been nicer. I was kinda disappointed.

As an aside, I hate that what could have gone down as a top play in UGA history is all but forgotten simply due to the ending. We sucked on offense most of the day (we both did actually, as it was 3-10 late in the 4th) and we were backed up inside our 10 in front of LSU's student section. We were basically finished. Greene had a simple dumpoff in the flat to tyson browning who got a HUGE block from damien gary and went 93 yards right towards us. It was awesome, and practically nobody knows it happened bc of lsu's ensuing possession.

For sure. Incredibly loud. The first top 10 match up between two teams in tiger stadium in a long time.

And it was a day game. Had it been at night it would have been another earthquake game

2003 was right before Corporate America took over College Football Games. We got soft in '08

I remember that play, my heart sank and I thought y'all were going to win since y'all had the momentum but then Skylar Green!

I was right there, 2 rows up when that happened. I remember like it was yesterday. The hole was MASSIVE.

My dad was there. Got attacked after the game but was with some LSU friends who got him out of there. Kind of echoes what WG said, that it was a literal hostile place. I personally went back in 2008 and couldn't have had a better time. What happened?

Yeah, a couple of drunk frat guys jumped him as everyone was leaving the game. He didn't get hurt as his LSU friends he had traveled with were pretty big dudes and were quick to intervene but he said it was bizarre as hell; he's been traveling the SEC since the 70s and never been treated like that as an opposing fan (outside of jakconsville anyway)

I wasn’t there in 2003, but I remember that game for sure. I did visit in 2008. There were a few shitty fans, but thats to be expected. I remember one fan in particular who threatened my then girlfriend, but he was a drunk frat bro. The same frat bro who was so drunk he had pissed himself and had no idea.

Overall, it’s by far the best tailgating experience I’ve had, mainly because of the food. The game was pretty good too, thank you Darryl Gamble and Knowshon

The only moment that was as loud or louder was uts go ahead in 2001.

Still pissed about the blatant block in the back in the back on the kick return that set up lsus go ahead.

I remember a lsu fan in a purple hockey jersey talking shite to me about my red pants going into the game.

I'll share my experience.

At the time I was a 17 year old high school kid as well as my buddy who was there. We went with my aunt and her daughter (my cousin, who was an adult). Stayed in NO friday, great time, drove over saturday. So me and my buddy say we're going to walk to the pmac for gameday, this is where trouble began. Remember now, we're 17. Not drinking or doing drugs or anything, just regular kids. And despite what yall may believe, I'm not the most physically imposing brute of a man. So on the walk over, we're minding our business and a group of LSu guys pulling a cooler behind them kept bumping us out of the way. Think about walking down the hall in school and shoulder bumping someone coming the other direciton. It was similar to that..they were beside us and kept pushing us off our path. Hey, not a big deal. So we get to the pmac and it's a zoo. We make our way near the front and realize we're the only red shirts in all yellow. Some guy almost physically forced us to take shots. LIke putting it direclty in our face and yelling at us demanding we take it. We just kept declining and tried to ignore. We weren't drinkers yet so it was pretty offputting. Gameday begins and I put up a sign I made (remember, high schooler here. I was lame). Within seconds, like literally seconds, guy behidn me used my shoulders as a spring board and grabbed my sign and ripped it apart to the cheers of hundreds around us. May be kinda funny now but at the time it was terrifying. I know Athens gets rep for assholes but I would never do somethign like that to a teenager who was minding his business. So we're just standing there trying to stay calm and after a few minutes we realize that some other dudes behind us had a sharpie and were marking on my buddy's back. Just a little swipe here, another swipe there. But needeless to say his shirt was ruined. Inside the game there were no problems since we were in the lower level UGA endzone wiht our own kind. After the game it was mostly shite talk. LSU wasn't accustomed to winning much at that point in time so I guess they were letting their frustrations out. But overall it was just a really bad experience, especially given my age and mindset at the time.

So now it's 08. Me and that same buddy are going. We're both hard drinkers at this point and he was in ROTC. We're pissed. The 3rd member of my crew is my older cousin who was a former marine. He was pissed by association. I mean it when I say we crossed the LA border looking to fight. So we pull into this huge open field and pretty much teh first people we see is a huge van with LSU folks who invite us on over. They ask if we brought food and when we said no they said we could help ourselves. They cooked good ol lousiana fare all day and couldn't give it away fast enough. We talked football with those guys all day and just had a blast. In the stadium things also went swimmingly but that probbaly had more to do with us controlling the game comfortably from start to finish.

The 2 trips were polar opposites, which I've never experienced in any other away trips.

that screen play was so disheartening. But seconds after that the stadium erupted with the "LSU" chant while the extra point was being kicked. No one, not even the fans, seemed to be fazed

From my view in the student section, I've never seen an away crowd explode like that in Tiger Stadium. That was one of a handful of great "holy shite" moments during that game.
