I wonder what freshman will play meaningful snaps.

BJ Emmons and Jonah Williams on offense. I don't see anyone else.

Ben Davis, Terrell Hall, Jamar King, Kendell Jones, and Raekwon Davis on defense. I don't see anyone else.

I think Shyheim Carter, Nigel Knott, and Jared Mayden will be awesome on ST.

I don't see how everyone else doesn't RS.

There's always one that comes in slightly under (or barely on) the radar who gets playing time and surprises us. And it seems like there's always one we expect to get PT that red shirts.

Raekwon Davis is a project and will likely RS. The tight end and WR that where EE will play, especially the TE. Bama will lose 3 players that have played TE this year. Ball, Green and Howard. I look for Charles Baldwin to play also.

Which offensive lineman suffered the major knee injury al.com vaguely described in the notification they just sent out?

Sucks for him, but at least it was a Guard. We are fricking loaded at those two spots so he can take all the time he needs to heal up.

Medical redshirt and he still has 4 years left.

Probably wouldn't be granted a 6th year waiver by the NCAA unless he can show that he redshirted last year due to an injury.

His medical redshirt will be for this coming season.

You don't just get a "medical redshirt" because you were hurt. You get 1 redshirt year. If you were injured 2 years, you MAY get a 6th year.

Well, that sucks. I thought you could get one if you were injured and didn't play a certain number of games for a year.

You can use that as your RS year, if you already have RSd and want to gain a year back due to injury you have to request from NCAA

Yes but since he redshirted last year, the NCAA would have to grant him a 6th year waiver in order for him to redshirt the upcoming year. They will typically only do that when it can be shown the student athlete missed 2 years for reasons beyond his control.

Basically, you only get one redshirt year and if you use it when healthy but get hurt later, then too bad

Hand and Tomlinson weren't practicing today

Eddie Jackson was not wearing black

They said Johnny Dwight was working with the 2's on the DL. I didn't realize he had moved back to DL after spending last year at TE

Bama will have some depth at TE this year, will allow Dwight and Ball to move back to DL.

True but then we're back to being thin next year after when OJ and Greene move on. I'm surprised how we've seemingly struggled to sign one true TE per class. I guess Freitag's off the field issues put us a little behind the 8 ball. Thank god OJ came back.

Any chance Ronnie Clark could move to tight end? Might have to put on some weight. I don't see him playing much at running back. Unless he moves to another position, he will likely transfer out after this year.
