I haven't heard much about Clark. I wouldn't be surprised if he transferred.

I would think he would be an ideal candidate for that FB/HB role vacated by Nyeswander

The thing in that spot is you better LOVE throwing your body around. I have no idea if Clark fits that mold.

True but I remember Clark being a leader on the Al. All star team and a captain on the UA AA team which leads me to believe that he's a cerebral, natural leader type that would excel in the self-less role of a HB/FB role. At least that's what the tea leaves tell me

Hope so - would love to have a guy with the mental makeup and toughness of the last few H-back types with the athletic ability of Clark.

“We had a few guys that are nicked up,” Saban said. “Da'Shawn Hand had back spasms today so he was out of practice early and went in. Dalvin Tomlinson is sick. We are getting Eddie Jackson back out there. He’s starting to do some stuff, so that’s good for him. Richie (Petitbon) had his surgery. Everything went really well. We expect a full recovery from him.”

Good news.

Clark has also seems to have bought into the process. He was recruited to play safety and might have been competing for a spot but we needed running back depth and he moved over, knowing that he was less likely to play.

Every thing I've heard about Clark is that he was loved in Calera,is a super nice guy, and has a great attitude.

Tbh, I don't think he transfers. We may not even see him play until he's a redshirt senior, but I think he'll stay.

Edit: I doubt he'll take Fowler's old role. I don't see him getting big enough.

I also know nothing about anything though.

That's a relatively young OL unit. Full of talent though. I expect a big year from RP at center and big Cam should have a huge year if he's healthy.

So a realistic starting unit in the fall (when Cam is healthy) could be:

LT - Cam Robinson
LG - Lester Cotton
C - Ross Pierschbacher
RG - Brandon Kennedy
RT - Jonah Williams/Korren Kirvin

Hard to believe Shank Taylor (a 14 game starter in 2014) may lose his job, but he was inconsistent.

Shank could lose his job, but I bet he doesn't. I hear he dropped weight and looks better/quicker this spring. The rest of your projection looks spot on, and that line could become dominant as it gels early in the season. Cotton has me pumped.

I'm familiar with Perchbacker (just making fishing joke) and Cam...the other OL im not familiar with, but like a lot of teams most folks from other schools don't know them. OL is the key to an offense though. No OL no QB...unless you are Dan Marino who had the quickest release of anyone.

Personally I think the starting OL will be Robinson, Cotton, Pierschbacher, Warmack, Williams.

I may have missed the rosters if they were released, but I wonder how the QBs will be divided? I could see it going by seniority, Bateman/Cornwell one team and Barnett/Hurts on the other. I definitely hope all realistic candidates get a shot with the 1s.

I'm not saying we won't miss the guys we lose in the front 7, but we still return so much, it's crazy. The secondary should be better, I'd argue the pass rushing and athleticism of the front 7 should be better. The run D could be the only thing that really "drops off", but we always have a top 5ish run D so no worries.

And the way this OL is coming together with the fire power on O...
