Jimbo is not leaving FSU. It's not even a better job and the family issues he has with his son and the medical specialists he needs will keep him at FSU.

I've heard rumors that Fisher and the administration at FSU have been at odds and that may lead him elsewhere. Nothing I can verify so take it fwiw.

That rumor has been floating around since we were looking for a HC. If it was true, he would've gone somewhere else by now

I hope he stays. That being said, it would be hard to get too mad at any DC going for a HC position.

I think Chiz deserves a shot more at this point, though.

Let's think for a moment - does he stay another year at Auburn with the chance that we are mediocre again next season (which is a good possibility), and that his head coaching candidate profile stock goes down, or does he take a job at a small school like UCF as head coach? I'd love for him to stay because we need him, but I honestly think if he's smart, he'll jump ship before it goes under next year.

The IB may be his resume, if the defense plays awesome, he's gone. Might be gone anyways. But a blowout won't help.

Wish he was here for one more year of recruiting.

Why exactly is it a good chance for our football program to go under next year? You act like Muschamp needs to hurry up and jet from a ticking time bomb.

What makes you think we'll be any better next season? Malzahn will enter the season on the hot seat, the schedule is tougher (may not even win the first game), and Gus's play calling does not indicate to me that we will be any better off next season offensively unless we have a miracle worker at quarterback. Let me ask you this - if you worked in a job where the manager wasn't performing as highly as he or she should and results were mediocre, would you stay in that position or would you rather take a manager position yourself at a different company?

Well I certainly think we will improve from this current six win season. And to be honest, I think of Muschamp as the boss of the defense, and his employees will make their boss a happy man next year.

Also, you obviously don't know Muschamp if you think he is going to run away just because the offense is bad.

Yes, the only smart move is the move that would support your perception of Auburn.

In reality, he could very easily improve his resume next year by continuing to improve the defense (like he already has done).

He stays another year, it improves his resume as he will field a much better defense in year two in all liklihood.

I'm worried about recruiting though. If he is a short timer with us, it is going to set recruiting back a couple of years. This year if players think he is a short timer and the next while we try and replace yet another DC.

If Muschamp leaves after one year he deserves to be kicked in the nuts.

You must have been real fun to hang around with during the Barfield days.

Everything is going to be okay. Auburn may lose on Saturday, but the sun WILL rise on Sunday. bammer may win it all this year but everything will be okay. We probably will have some minor coaching changes this offseason but it will be okay. Life will go on. There is no need to show everyone how big of a pussy you are and how you have no confidence that anything good will come out of anything that Auburn does. It will be okay. We get it, you don't think Auburn can do anything right. For some reason you think that if we can anyone for incompetence that we will automatically hire someone worse. Everything will be okay. Because even if Auburn doesn't win another football game for the next 10 years I will still Love Auburn and you will go on cheering for bama.

TL; DR - Quit being a baby and shitting on everything positive.

Those rumors pop up for every coach who has another fanbase wanting them to be their head coach

Probably.
They are in a frenzy over there. Some of the wildest stories and rumors I have ever heard. If Les comes back next year Louisana will burn.
