I am shocked people can't read between the lines and see JJ is starting. Think about it. Gus announced White as the starter following the LSU beat down and now this week suddenly starts in on this "we're opening it up" and "letting them compete."

Why would he say anything about opening it up if White was the starter? Why would he frick with White's head for no reason? Makes no sense. If he was truly happy with White, he would say so and wouldn't be even discussing it.

Pretty clear to me he planned on starting JJ all along and is using this "QB competition" as a way to cover his arse if JJ has another meltdown. "Oh, JJ looked awesome in practice and beat out White fair and square. We put who we thought was the best guy in there."

In other words, doing this makes it look like JJ starting was not a foregone conclusion (when it has been the whole time).

If this is all true, then Sean White has a real reason to be pissed the frick off. Basically this would mean Gus hamstringed him in the SJSU game just so he wouldn't look good and which would keep this QB controversy going. "See, White can't throw and that's why we're starting JJ guys." Nevermind that Gus only allowed him to throw it like 6 times all game (I don't remember a game where AU threw it less. Even the wishbone teams of the 80's would throw it more).

The whole situation is fricked. Our only hope is that JJ comes alive and ends up being all-SEC caliber. If that doesn't happen, I see things getting REAL ugly for GUS.
