So before bear and after bear is cherry picking? I was pointing out that bama hasn't "dominated" Auburn like bama fans want people to think. bear dominated Auburn. You are the one that chose to pick the record against Auburn during the greatest run in bama's history.
Well, you're missing the caveat that you added, which is to make it a "non-Bear" run, because we should always ignore 25 years of history because they were coached by the same guy. It's not like Auburn had craptastic coaches during that period - or was Shug just a chump?
The greatest "run" occurred between 1973-1981, where Alabama won 9 in a row. Yes, you can say that the series is lopsided from Bear's run... but there was also a 40 year stretch where we didn't play, and Alabama was CLEARLY the better football program by a longshot. The Bear domination just makes up for the fact that you got to miss out on the Xen Scott / Frank Thomas / Wallace Wade eras. Ask LSU if they wish they could have skipped playing us during that period - because they were a better team that AU was during that stretch, and they only managed to go 2-10-3 against us.
You say we got lucky because of Bear's domination - I say you got lucky because you skipped two of our greatest coaches.
I guess with us getting lucky so much, we should go get tested at the clinic.

I would be willing to bet that an AU coach would keep his job with 6-5 every single season as long as one of the six was Bama. Tuberville for proof
Do you recall that Lowder and Co had already scheduled a presser for the Monday after the '03 Iron Bowl to announce Tubs' firing and the beginning of a "coaching search" (that had already been made, with Petrino the pre-selected target)? And that the decision to fire Tubs had been made regardless of how a favored AU team faired against a dreadful Shula-coached Bama team?
News flash (if such a thing could be considered "news" since it happened 12 years ago): if not for Jay Tate's uncovering of the secret plane trip to meet with Petrino, Tubs would have finished the 2003 season not only with a 7-5 record, but with consecutive Iron Bowl wins (and 3 out of the previous 4).
I could go along with your point that AU shows little patience for HCs who fail to sustain success, because that is the mark of a program that wants to win.
But as far as what happened to Tubs in '08 as being "proof" that all that matters to AU is winning the IB, I refer you to what was going to happen in '03 as proof of exactly the opposite.

UGA did not beat Auburn that year. Try again.

What if Freep..you are speculating. The uproar would have been epic if Tubs wins that game and the Idiots in Power had run him. And indeed it was.

The whole thing with Curry and Tuberville will go down as probably the two most mistreated coaches at both schools, all because everyone is only going to selectively understand what was really going on, because knowing the whole picture will distort their biased perception.

UGA tied Auburn. That stopped his winning streak.
What was Curry's record against Auburn again?

Like I said earlier...........Auburn won more games before bear. Auburn has won more games after bear. Like maggots, you are still living off of bear. This is not speculation about "what woulda"/"what coulda"...this is about actual facts.
"if you cut over two decades of the history of the rivalry you can see how that means auburn is teh bestest!"
jesus kids are we still doing this?
Bear Bryant died in the early 80s and we resumed the series, what? like 60 years ago?
hey, guess what? Bama won the last Iron Bowl. The only Iron Bowls that matter was the last one and the one that's coming up.

I asked who ended the UNBEATEN streak. Now what team was that? A tie is NOT a loss.

0-3
Curry was not fired from Alabama. He was offered a contract extension that did not include a raise and removed his power to hire and fire assistants. I'm sure it's debatable if that was intended to get him to look elsewhere on his own, or if there was an off-the-field reason for it.
If both schools have one thing in common, it's that we have both had our fair share of power brokers that tried to exercise too much control over the football programs.

Since you are skeert to say it I will..A L A B A M A ENDED Bowden's unbeaten streak.
And in case you didn't know it..Paul Bryant was what team's head coach? A L A B A M A. And his wins count whether you like it or not.
I could go so far as to say without TUBERVILLE Auburn would be double figures behind Bama in the win totals.
