This is probably a dumb question...with the new bolton, are they doing anything with the old bolton?

It has actually already been leveled and last I heard is just being turned into a parking lot. So, FYI for gameday this year, Baxter is a bit of a mess due to ongoing construction.

can people park there on gamedays?
I have some buddies who need a place to park.

I go to campus every year obviously but I don't venture out aside from my normal spots. I was blown away when I saw the new bolton.
Terry Phase I (Correll Hall) is finished.
Tate Phase II soon to start construction.
Phase II is twice as large as Phase I.
Science Learning Center at D.W. Brooks Mall (next to UGA Pharmacy) going up.
The new UGA Vet School is finished, on College Station Road.
This is being built around the Arch
I'll be back in Athens later this week (finally) and I plan on getting pictures of these projects.

A walkway for the non-alums to go around the Arch.
And man I hate to hear that about bolton. Used to demolish that place when I lived in creswell. I still have an email exchange between me and J.Michael Floyd when they quit serving hash browns. I'll try to get a screenshot.

The new Bolton is like a damn mountain lodge on the inside

shame. I hate it when visiting team fans ask me where to park and I have no idea where to tell them. Me and my cousin parked for about 15 years in the lot behind baldwin hall until one year (I think 09?) we showed up and it had turned into a permit only.
I think I park in one of the last free, non-permit lots on campus. I'm dreading the day I show up for opening day and that's been changed.

They're adding 10k+ square feet to Baldwin this semester so I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the lot you used to park at will cease to exist soon.

where, in the back?

At this point, parking is so bad, I just tell them to park in neighborhoods. There's the streets off of Pinehurst and places back there. One of the easy ones to find parking in is at the retreat north. It's a bit of a walk up north avenue, but if you're in a pinch and only need to park and don't want to spend money, you can easily find a spot in there.

Doesn't say....

This $8,750,000 project includes an approximate 10,800sf addition to the 53,200sf Baldwin Hall (1938) to provide classrooms, offices and improved ADA accessibility for the faculty, staff and students within the School of Public and International Affairs (SPIA) and other departments who utilize the facility. The project will also address interior renovations of the historic Baldwin Hall facility. These renovations, at a minimum, include repainting and flooring replacement. Critical building systems upgrades to the aged mechanical and electrical systems are also a part of the enhancements to the existing facility

hata, where do you park?
I really hate divulging my spot since I don't want it to be overrun, but it's an oasis. It's a very short walk to anywhere you need to be that's relevant on gameday and it's free. You just gotta get there early.

That Bolton lot probably won't be done by the time the season rolls around. At leats I'd be surprised if it was.

Why do you spell dogs, "dawgs"?

Nope. I know people that live off Cloverhurst and they still have the intersection of Baxter and Finley blocked off. They reopened Baxter/Cloverhurst intersection a couple weeks ago though.

Now every student doesn't walk under until graduation...I didn't walk under until graduation night and I still get a little sense of pride when I go back for games and get to walk under.
like I said I've heard from many places that only alums are allowed. But...I've also heard only freshman are NOT allowed. Is there a definitive source on this? We need answers. I feel like Rig woudl know.
I did walk under back in 6th grade during my first trip to Athens though and I graduated no problem.
