Three words
No its not.
It is incredibly unique.

I'll say it back but I agree it is a little awkward.
What's entirely too awkward for me to do is the entire hotty toddy chant outside of an Ole Miss event. I always feel dumb when someone tries to get me to do that.

Agreed for the most part, but there's been a couple of exceptions, like having a fraternity formal on bourbon street and having 150+ brothers do the chant from a balcony.
Usually enough LSU fans below to piss off to make it somewhat gratifying.

If it is harmful to your psyche, just say GO REBS!
Or Ole Miss by Damn!
I like the greeting. If you say it to a fellow Ole Miss fan, it is just a way to identify a very special group of friends.
Alas! The PC crowd could well be researching this saying so that it can be removed, too!

You are the crazy lady with the bob cut yelling these things.

Never had a bob cut, but thanks for asking.

Anyone feel the same way, or is this just me?
Considering I haven't really lived in Mississippi since graduating, whenever I wear my garb outside of the state and someone says that to me, I do enjoy it, because I usually then strike up a conversation with them. Sorry, but it's great when you live hours away from Mississippi. If I see someone wearing Ole Miss gear, I will say Hotty Toddy as well. Granted I don't do that when I'm in Mississippi or Memphis, but it's nice to know someone when you're far away from your home. Ran into a few people in Beijing with Ole Miss shirts on, and I bet even you would scream Hotty Toddy when you saw an Ole Miss fan half a world away.

I got a Hotty Toddy on Duval Street last night.

Got one on the beach yesterday.
Wasn't bothered.

Got one yesterday down here in Rosemary beach. Greeted him with another. Chuckled at the thought of this thread. Wasn't awkward at all.

Not down your way. Free condo at Perdido(meh), but still the beach.

I like Perdido. There's a bar there that says they have the best martinis around, I didn't have any of those, but their sushi and karaoke game are both strong.

Say hello to my sister, the UM Season ticket holder. She's down there.
Go to The Original Point, if you like Bluegrass (Th.-Sat.) to go with excellent seafood.

Who Dat makes me want to keep my Saints gear in the closet until Sundays. And it's always some overweight obnoxious guy who yells it at you.
