I'll say A&M. Everyone expects them to finish near the bottom of the West, but I could see them finishing in the top 3. They have all the tools on offense, and may be able to prepare some form of defense.
Don't forget Chavis!

Trust me after watching John Brantley and Jeff Driskel, the QB position is without a doubt the most important guy on the field.

I liked Porter, but Pocic shouldn't be much, if any, of a dropoff. A poor man's Barrett Jones.

Easily is Bama. The rant is saying 5 losses. Something tells me they are wrong. Again.

No one is sleeping on tVols this year. No one. Tons of preseason hype, returning some solid talent including what I believe will be the best QB in the league this season if he can stay healthy ... but no one is sleeping on tVols.
Plus Butch has recruited very well at positions of need.
Everyone is sleeping on SCAR. Everyone. I get it, bit then I look at what we have returning and what we have coming-in at key positions I don't.

OP is correct about our offense, it will be good. However OP is sleeping on our defense, or rather, probable lack thereof. We'll make a bowl this season for sure. Anything beyond that requires the defense to significantly shore up the run.

Yeah, I was being a tad facetious about UT after the bombardment this board has gotten with hype articles.
I'm interested to see what USC looks like. I've seen quite a few people say that they'll lose to UNC in the opener, but I don't see it. I obviously don't know what'll happen in the east, but I suspect the Cocks will have a say in the race in some manner. That said, I look for UGA or Mizzou to go to Atlanta at season's end.

LSU. People like to joke about quarterbacks and Kevin Steele and 8-5, but we're absolutely stacked with experienced NFL talent. Like a dormant volcano.
Every year in the SEC, there's at least one team that I just have no feel for in terms of how they'll do. LSU is that team this year, and no outcome of theirs will shock me.
It wouldn't surprise me if Miles pulls a four leaf over out of his arse and they go 10-2, but I also wouldn't be shocked they shite the bed and went 5-7.

Like a dormant volcano.
Then, sometime in the 2014 season, all of that got shelved, and "the Decline" became a popular buzzword. Even (especially) among the LSU fans, all the talk ignored how many freshmen and first-year starters there were, and everyone focused on the struggles each game presented. Some current preseason predictions have LSU in the Texas bowl.
I see it differently- we're waiting on a 5 star QB (Harris) to figure it out. If he does, and he's had a year in the system now, I predict LSU will be a pretty strong favorite to reclaim the national title for the SEC.

What's the d line look like I thought yall got that 5 star d tackle to plug the run game. I know you lost smith or whatever, did he really only go in the 5th round?

LSU, and no, I would not have said that last year because I knew we'd take a dive on offense (not THAT bad mind you).
We dropped the dead weight on defense and added energy and top level teaching at DL and LB.
Harris will surpise people and make this offense really explosive (in the good way).
LSU is the hunter this year.

The rant didn't say bama would go 8-5, there might be a handful but that's it.
