Shrine that is NEYLAND

Noob, you are delusional.

Neyland is by far, the worst stadium in the SEC.

Now, the outside environment at Neyland is good. But it stops when you walk thru the turnstiles.

I see you and raise you the Rose Bowl before renovations...

...and even afterwards it's hardly ideal...

...and for the same reason... both stadiums are built into the ground, and have a shallow slope.

This is over the top. The seating is fine for the home folks mostly. It's us visitors that are screwed...

Neyland's concourses are beautiful, and I hope Tiger Stadium's concourse can look as good one day...

Jordan-Hare really is just a slightly smaller Death Valley pre-South Endzone Expansion.

I have really enjoyed the atmosphere both times I've visited Auburn. Crazy atmosphere, great fans, tons of hot coeds, plenty of tailgates, just an all around great experience for a gameday.

As far as SEC away trips I've made:
1. Neyland Stadium - Tennessee: I can't say enough good things about the fans. They were the most courteous and welcoming of any I've ever encountered. The concourses are a thing of beauty. It's like a shopping mall or an NFL venue in there. That's something I hope LSU emulates in future renovations. The only complaints I had were that the stadium was clearly designed for only 80,000, but they cram 100,000+ in there with tiny seats. It's also way quieter than a crowd that size should be. Finally, mic'ing your band is bush league. As a bonus, Volunteer navy is a really cool tradition and Knoxville is a great college town.
2. Jordan Hare - Auburn: What an experience. The fans were almost as nice as Tennessee's, but some of the loudest I've experienced. Tailgating and scenery was top notch. If they had 100,000 people in JHS, it would rival Death Valley for loudest crowd.
3. The Swamp - Florida: Auburn with weaker tailgating and unbelievably douchy fans. The Swamp is an incredible venue, however, and deafeningly loud. It's only rival for volume in the SEC is LSU.
4. Razorback Stadium - Arkansas: This one suffers due to timing. Thanksgiving week is a terrible time for a college football game. The stadium was mostly full, I'll give them that, but the atmosphere outside was pretty dead. I'll chalk that up to the holidays. The piggies did get loud, though, all 50,000 of them that day.

5. Vaught-Hemingway Stadium - Ole Miss: Beautiful people, rich tailgating culture, terrible stadium with terrible cheers. Lawd O'Mighty does "Hotty Toddy" suck. Well, at least their fans do fill their erector set stadium that resembles 4 stadiums dropped into place by Chinook helicopters hurriedly before the start of some hastily organized sports tournament in a 3rd world dictatorship. They do have one redeeming quality, however, their BBQ nachos. Those things are freaking fantastic.

The half a butt cheek you all call a seat. Not just one time, and not always in the visitors section.

Vandy could put 100,000 in their stadium if they sat people in like Neyland.

Maybe this has something to do with it.

Envioirnemt?

Nice spelling. Not the best.

Sightline?

Um, no better than anywhere else.

In-game experience?

Don't flatter yourself.

I was curious, though, and I found this possible renovation picture from 2011. No idea if this is still a plan for the future but looks pretty nice for a Sun Belt stadium

That was something a fan conjured up. It's Texas Tech's stadium

We don't really have updated renderings of what the final project is to look like. The south endzone was bowled in to offset when the current upperdeck is torn down and rebuilt in to make room for suites, club seats and a new pressbox.

really old drawing but something like this eventually.

Is it in the plans?

I'm excited to see some of the new interior at Kyle. The student side was leaps and bounds better last year.

Easily the worst college stadium I've seen a game in. Not even kidding, Cajun Field at ULL is better, and I've been to Oxford twice (I was there for the "Meltdown in Mississippi"). The people are great, the grove is a cool tradition, but Vaught-Hemingway stadium is a joke.

I agree VHS is an awful stadium but if VHS is the worst stadium you've ever been too then you have either not been to very many stadiums ore have only been to some really good stadiums.

I'd say the same thing about Baton Rouge. I remember walking by LSU tailgates, hearing the always present "tigerbait!" chants towards us. But right after that was a friendly invitation to join them in a cold beer and some awesome food.

Sat in the lower level for the NC game and felt like I was upper deck of any of the sec stadiums because of the distant and that piped in crowd noise was awful. Only thing it has going for it, is SoCal and the golf course/scenery

I tailgated there for a UCLA/USC game once...worst tailgating atmosphere I've ever experienced. Sun Belt tailgating is better
