I switched from Verizon to Sprint because of the unlimited plan. I’ve regretted it since I walked out of the Sprint store. I live less than 15 miles outside of Charlotte and my service is horrendous. Don’t fall for the trap, stick to Verizon!

Sprint sucks. I have a Verizon work phone and an AT&T personal phone. Verizon's LTE doesn't compare with AT&T here in my area. AT&T is more expensive, their phones are expensive, and their customer service sucks arse, but the service is unbelievable.

Verizon is garbage, just FYI. The way they overlay their own UI on their devices is horrendous. I switched to them middle of last year and made it a whopping 3 months before they had screwed my bill up to the point of no return. Back to AT&T I went and couldn't be more pleased. People knock them, too, but I haven't figured out why. I've never had anything but good experiences with them, including customer service.

Don't swap. If you are trying to save money, consider using Verizon's prepaid plan.
I've had Sprint / Ting (both use Sprint towers) for the past 3 years while my wife has Verizon and her service and LTE speed is much more consistent than mine. Sprint isn't horrible by any means but when you compare to Verizon, there is a noticeable difference.

AT&T drives me nuts at times but we are grandfathered in to unlimited data so I'll be here until they finally lose their shite and boot me off. And they have certainly tried to do that...

There is a reason why they're willing to sell the "same service" for half price - because it's not the same service.

Have no idea how Sprint stays in business...been losing money for a while.

I had the unlimited plan too and was grandfathered in for a while, but I recently changed it to the 30 gig/month plan and am saving almost $40/month. I barely go over 15 gig in any month after looking back over past 2 years (like twice in 24 months we've hit about 20 gig usage), so 30 gig is plenty.
And this is a family shared plan with a wife and 2 daughters who stream movies and music all the time too. I recommend looking at your usage history and see what your average is. And if it's below 30 gig, I recommend getting off the unlimited plan. It's about a $40/month difference.

I live out in the country here and Verizon is the only service I can get here. People in the area with any other company have to drive 1/4 mile down the road to get a signal.
I have had Verizon for 15 years and never had a problem with my bill or customer service. But, I only use my phone to call or text.

Verizon was hands down the best while still on their unlimited plan. I milked that for so long until I gave in and got an LTE device, when they forced me to a different data plan.
My contract is up in October, and Tmobile has caught my eye as well. IF Sprint isn't worth it, what does anyone think of Tmobile?

Sprint coverage is not go in a lot of areas which is why we have stayed with Verizon. Plus, if you are looking for a good used phone (we have a no. of times for the kids, etc.), there are a ton of good used Verizon phones on Ebay, etc.

That's true for ALL carriers, just FYI.
And both Sprint and T-Mobile are trash. I had Sprint for work while working in Atlanta and while it was great there, it was terrible anywhere considered "rural". Had T-Mobile, Verizon and MetroPCS at various times in the last two years and T-Mobile was the worst of those three. Metro was surprisingly good.
Stick with VZW or AT&T.
And the first issue I had with a bill with Verizon, they would not budge. They finally (after multiple calls on the same issue) admitted they were at fault, but still would only take half of the disputed amount off the bill. AT&T, in multiple similar situations for me over the course of 17 years, has always been one call and fully resolved for me. And one of those was a $300.00 credit. Verizon dicked around over a $25.00 charge that was due to an error on their own end.

Check out Ting Mobile. My wife and i had Verizon for several years and was very pleased. But my son suggested Ting. Our bill went from $120 a month to $38. I THINK Ting is on the AT&T network, and I will be the first to admit the coverage is not as good...but we are saving almost $100 a month. We get text and internet for that price.

I did the same. I don't know if it still works...
But my phone was almost exclusively roaming for about 3 months. After the third month, they waived my ETF and told me to get lost. I'm on Verizon now and recently my phone was been on 3G where it used to be LTE and I'm dropping a lot of calls. I'm thinking of switching to AT&T because their coverage map is outstanding but I'd hate to pay the ETF on Verizon, move to AT&T and pay more for worse service.

Where do you live? In most places, this shouldn't be of any concern. The plans between AT&T and VZW are pretty much the same across the board in both price and features. Those two keep up with one another purposely.

I live in Jesup. I work and do a lot of fishing on Fort Stewart and I'm the only one that ever has service in the woods there or around Lake Grace but none of my friends have AT&T. I had At&T prepaid for awhile and got awful service in those areas but since then they've acquired Alltel and service looks solid.

I'm lucky and have a $60 VZW plan. the Closest with AT&T is $90 as of yesterday.

Make sure you talk to a sales rep, don't just look online. I have two phones with 3GB of data to share (my wife is almost exclusively on wifi), unlimited talk and text and my bill is $123 a month. That's with the extra $25 per month added in for my wife's new iphone on the NEXT plan....so it's really more like $98.00/month.
BTW, the AT&T GoPhone service was one of the best deals out there just a year ago. $60.00 per month for unlimited talk and text and 2.5GB data. There were only .75 in taxes every month when I had it so my total was $60.75 a month.
