I'm not being existential

I'm trying to show you that "racist" has become nothing more than a political weapon. It has no other meaning than to silence opposition.

I really don't know what it means, or why it's even bad. But everyone is just terrified of that label.

I am. People die every goddamn day trying to get into this country she hates so much. Minorities risk their necks to get a smidgen of the freedoms that she enjoys on a daily basis, whether she admits to such or not. Is America perfect? NO! Does this nation have a sordid past? Yes (just like any other nation on the face of this earth). Do we have a long way to go with race relations? Absolutely. But have we made and are we making great strides to right said wrongs? Yes, to the tune of being in the midst of one of the quickest 180s with regards to racial relations in recorded history. Saying you hate this "racist" country, the one that makes it more possible than just about any other nation to succeed no matter what your melanin count is, is absolutely galling, and reeks of ungratefulness, not to mention a deplorable dearth of perspective. So, yes, frick her and those who think like her. If they hate this country so much and want to leave, then I hope they spin gravel getting out the damn door.

Yeah, I would prefer her leave as well. I guess I was just saying shes not being forced out for speaking her mind.

Your problem is you assume based on the fact that something was viewed as "racist" decades ago, that you understand someones intent. For something to be racist, there has to be a clear meaning behind it. It doesn't mean today what it meant decades ago.

If you take something as racist without knowing someones intent, it's your problem.

Once again, if Rebelgator knew the history of the word, then there's no debate about the intent.

You didn't know the racial history of the word uppity in this country and you didn't know about the different etymologies of the N word and ****rdly.

Glad I could teach you something today.

Incorrect. You can't read

Also incorrect. I said "n*ggardly" was my favorite word.

When it comes to word etymologies, you are inferior to me in every possible aspect

You did teach me that you lack both literacy and powers of accurate recollection. I'll remember such going forward

I am correct. Per par.

I know the history. The meaning of the word today is not what it once was in limited parts of the country. This is the point that you continually miss.

I never argued that calling anyone uppity is racist. I said it's racist when you use it to describe an outspoken black person. Do you agree with that?

It's objectively racist just because it's directed at a black person?

What if the person had no racial intentions and the outspoken black person didn't take it as racial. Is it still racist?
