Why? Moving is very common for today's professional. I have to move every 2-3 years for my job. It is an unspoken requirement for promotions. The only difference is EJ makes 1 million per year, and coaches a child's game.

I understand it's part of the profession but it still isn't easy.

Are you a professional? It is very common in the business world.

What profession are you in? Like I said give me a figure to back it up. Young professionals are more apt to move but there's a point where that ends. The US population as a whole is more stagnant than active in where they live.

Started out in engineering, now management. You get to a point where you either move, or stay at the same pay grade.

Supposedly Muschamp was spotted at Barbecue House. I doubt it's true though

I was good friends with Dirk Koetters daughter. They don't like moving as often as they do and they all are looking for a destination. There comes a point where they stay unless you are a douche like Urban MeyerMeyer
eta: when kids leave the house often times they become more amenable to moving if they aren't in love with the area

Martez Ivey says Auburn coaches will visit him today...hopefully that means they're going to tell him we have the Boom

Just read a few tidbits off of a South Carolina website...
*Supposedly Muschamp and his wife are on vacation in the Carribean. He is in no hurry to make a move as he wants to determine all of his options prior to making a choice.
*Source that knows Muschamp says he would be surprised if he went to Auburn. Mostly because he doesn't want to coach at a school that runs HUNH (source also would be surprised if he ended up at A&M.)
Of course this source later revealed that people close to SC feel somewhat optimistic about him coming to Columbia.
I don't believe the above at all of him not wanting to coach for a team that runs a fast paced O. Didn't he just make some remarks about that being the direction CFB heading when he hired Roper?
Anyways just wanted to pass along...

Moving around from job to job has actually become more common in today's business climate. There was a time when being at one job for a long time was highly praised. Now it can sometimes be an issue in some cases. CAT for instance will move their people quite frequently, and I mean all over the country and internationally.

Seems that most programs value movement at the beginning and then you settle in. Most companies in my field rotate people for about 5-7 years then lock you in.
Same for my brother

Jeff Tarpley of A&M's 247 page is reporting that Muschamp has been offered the job at Auburn and details are being negotiated although nothing is final. He also seems to think that, of Muschamp's current options, Auburn is the most likely destination followed by and NFL gig and then A&M as it stands.
PM seems to think that CWM pay will be in the $1.5 mil per year range.
Also said keep your eye on Bill Clark of UAB and the Memphis DC.
