I know this is a long shot since Internet message boards are for bitching and moaning and I'm sure this thread will be taken over in short order with "fire EJ" "fire Gus" "hire Muschamp" etc., but I'd really like to get some thoughtful dialogue.

True our D played and has been atrocious and we were killed with more penalties, but what happened to the offense besides dropped passes? The first drive was a thing of beauty. Is this a bigger issue than our D or is that all it is?

Did the coaches put too much pressure on the team to be 13 seconds better and after the A&M loss, the team has quit?

Is this a letdown season after the magic we rode all last year?

Is there something bigger going on, i.e. Gus losing the team bc of discipline we don't know about?

I feel like watching that game from the start, at least on tv, the UGA fans and team were pumped the entire time. It sounded and looked hostile as anything I have ever see on tv or in person.

Thoughts?

Penalties and Gus even admitted he started calling plays way too conservatively in that game. That did not help out offense.

I have no idea.

We're on our third defensive coordinator since we've had a serviceable defense. If we were actually playing fast, I could almost buy the "defense needs time to rest" argument.

Our special teams have quickly become garbage....didn't realize how valuable special teams can be by simply NOT SCREWING UP! Muffed punt returns, blocked FG's...these things are making a huge difference.

Our offense...good lord...I honestly expected them to be better than last year. NM may be a 'better passer' but we're still so inconsistent there that no one needs to respect that aspect of our offense.

AND THE PENALTIES. EVERYWHERE THE PENALTIES. ALL OVER WITH THE PENALTIES.

I have no idea what to fix...

They quit after the aTm loss. Don't believe they have anything left to play for. Apparently pride isn't enough to get this team awake and ready to fight.

And a result of that is stupid mistakes and unmotivated ball.

I think we all thought Auburn offense would be get better week after week just like it did in 2013 and 2010. And it might have, but the defense collapsed. The offense kept at it but I think the two TAM fumbles cost a lot of confidence. Losing Duke meant it would be NM tossing to Coates- and who can't lose hope there?

I thought Gus would take what he has and make something of it, instead, with NM it seemed like they tried to recreate 2013 plus get NM to the Heisman by being a passer. Didn't work.

It's Gus' fault. But I'm sure with JJ being so different than NM it will be an opportunity to start on a clean slate.

Richt has our number and their fans are always hyped for our game. We haven't ever blown them out under him, the way they have done us. They've almost always played better than the season up to that point would suggest they would.

They have their choke games but it is never against us.

We were rumbling at Sonic in August and September, but now many of you have defected from TOTS to health food like whole bran muffins at Panera Bread. If Malzahn would get out of the Waffle House after a win and head to Sonic he would see the glory that is our War Eagle Sonic Fight Club.

We are better when Daniel Cobb and NGT are swinging haymakers at Sonic. Our team's attitude depends on our diet choices and our irrational decisions to fight with fellow Tigers at Sonic.

Every season won't be a magical championship ride, and I'm okay with that. I like what we are doing overall. The defense has struggled through the last few games but we are still posting an overall improvement from last season. The offense is missing a lot from last year and that's showing as well.

The reality is that we had lofty expectations just two seasons removed from 3 wins. This was a tough schedule, and we still have a chance to reach double digit wins. I'll take that.

All the little things that championship teams do, we are not doing.

Special teams, penalties, not missing tackles, etc.

Those things get you beat against our schedule.

Sure, we could have talent upgrades here and there. Play calling could be better. But if we were disciplined enough to do these little things right, we could win the SEC with this team.

alot of people are blasting the defense---and sure, it could be better---but i actually thought the defense did its part against georgia....well, for as long as it could, anyway. the game-changers were on special teams, and a derped opening drive (dropping two bulls-eye passes, then a holding penalty on 3rd down, negating a gutsy 1st down effort) in the 2nd half didn't help matters either. at that point, it just seemed like everyone threw up their arms & said "i'm out"....
