What makes athletics in the state of Alabama so toxic?

I've always sort of ignored the "hurr durr there isn't anything else to do in Alabama or they're all inbred retards" reasoning behind it because wouldn't every other state in the South follow suit? Why would this hold true for AL and not MS?
Winning doesn't make a difference it seems. Both fan bases have been batshit since they've existed.
Why hasn't MS had the same crazy shite happen at some point in history between it's two schools?
What makes people from Alabama crazier than anyone else in the south?

There is a thread just like this on the first page, but it doesn't include the Auburn fanbase.
I'll let it stand.

Because all the crazies in MS are Alabama fans

Probably because neither OM or MSU has had near the success consistently as Bama or AU. Usually the Egg Bowl is meaningless and there is nothing on the line. Just a guess.
also, there are hundreds of thousands of Alabama fans, and there have been probably less than 6 crazy instances that are rivalry based.

Winning is the only difference.
People in Mississippi have been used to being last in everything and bad at football for their entire existence. Alabama's history is the opposite - which has created a feeling of entitlement. When the low IQ, redneck, side-walkers of the state develop a sense of entitlement - it becomes toxic.
You didn't hear about any of these stories when Bama was losing 6 games every year. It wasn't until we won big that you start seeing these stories from enraged fans because their team lost.

Do the Mississippi schools even have any fans?

Bad ground water and airborne contaminates from Anniston Army Depot - where they cooked off the nerve gas.
Over abundance of fat people on Orange Beach.
One unfortunate incident that should not be discussed - that occurred on April 27,1978.
Post WWII Germans in Huntsville.

Don't let the sun go down on you in Alabama, boy.

People hate winners. And the state of Alabama is the center of the college football world. Both teams play for championships, the SEC has its headquarters in Birmingham, and Birmingham has the most college football fans per capita. Deal with it.

What craziness are you talking about exactly? I know there was some bad blood when Jackie Sherill was at State and Tuberville was at Ole Miss because their teams got into a brawl in the middle of the field at one point. Auburn and Alabama players have never gotten into a fight on the football field as far as I know. The bad blood between those two coaches carried on even after Tuberville left for Auburn

People from Mississippi are too stupid to get angry

Just to make you mad. It's a plan.

Uneducated minds with low IQ's plus a sense of entitlement creates a derpy cocktail. That's really all there is to it, imo.
All that other stuff about people latching on to the team because their lives suck, or because they haven't accomplished anything worth a shite themselves could probably be said about sports fans the world over. Just look at some of the mouth-breathers you see at NFL tailgates, or the nutcases in Europe who riot after soccer matches. It's just the especially stupid/crazy people who can't separate entertainment from shite that is worth getting soul-crushingly upset over.

Surely you aren't counting the West Georgia school in your calculations above, right?
