That's more of a religious or philosophical discussion so I'll stay away for now as to not completely derail the topic of secession. The only thing I'll say about it is that I believe humans are spiritual by nature and are looking for ways to express their spirituality. Therefore, I don't believe religion will ever go away.

Also, I think it's foolish to equate religion with ignorance, as so many do, and then assume as we gain more knowledge through science that religion will go away as the ignorance vanishes.
