The SEC's strength is in its whole.
If you wanna play the individual program game go join the Big 12 or something.

Hush. There was no mention of SC. You can have some of MSUs and OMs share. Besides, the target was your favorite Tigers. Shhhhhh.

We're basically 50/50 partners with ESPN, correct?
I'm assuming we split it down the middle after ESPN claims their operating expenses?
Is there room to grow the profits, or are we actually peaking at birth? Because if that's the case that will not be good for us in the long run.
Makes me wonder about who will be keeping the books.
Our contract with ESPN is for what, 15 yrs? If I remember correctly it is not negotiable even if we add two more teams.
What does that tell us?

That's just for subscription fees and advertising. Monies are still to made from CBS t.v. rights, bowl games, etc., etc., etc.

correct, this is a new revenue source on top of the old. However, some old TV revenue will be less

We don't know for sure how the money will be apportioned since there are blind spots we don't know about. It's educated guessing right now but the safe assumption is we all will be quite comfortable soon.

This just in: The SEC has added Texas to the SEC West and ND to the SEC East. Aggies are pissed and Alabama is working hard to ensure a yearly matchups with Kentucky and Vanderbilt.

Was thinking the same thing. If they don't get it, go join tejas and the longhorn network and see how it works out.

On a serious note, these new revenue streams about going to make HC salaries even more ridiculous.
NFL guys will have to consider the massive salaries that some schools are going to be willing to pay.

It's only subscription fees actually. The author of the article calculated the number based on the projected number of subscribers at launch.

When you factor in advertising -- which typically runs around a quarter of revenue at other ESPN properties -- ESPN and the SEC have almost created an $800 million network.

That's just sick money.

I, for one, would like to thank our Texas A&M brethren for bringing in such a large bounty, while not being total choads like that other school in the state.

Because of Los Angeles? If not, this doesn't make any sense.
