Coolest personality on TV, with insightful and well rounded perspectives on everything.

Sunday night, 8pm Central and again at 11 for the poors without a recording device.

He'll undoubtably tackle the Southern Thing, food, culture, economics, ect.

He canoed down the Ms river? What an idiot I've had whirlpools spin my ski boat around on that river. I've seen entire trees disappear under water and shoot up 300 yards down.... That's dangerous as hell to do that river can suck you under real fast.

Bourdain has the best gig on TV. He won't do the typical condescending carp that mist shows do when they do a show in a place like Mississippi.

To be honest from the preview they've been showing on CNN it looks like the episode is going to be dominated by the black culture in that region. Like focusing on jazz/blues and soul food

Should be good if he's taking it all in with Currence too. Loved Boure and am anxious to take in some of his other Oxford eateries.

Ironically read about Eudora Welty today working with some kids.

Love his show, and I don't generally like those types of shows because the hosts tend to try to make them these feel-good stories about everything that's right about that particular city. Bourdain is painfully honest at times. When he did the Detroit episode, he made a commentary remark along the lines of "everyone always tries to say 'Detroit is coming back.' Is it coming back? HECK NO, it's not. It's never coming back. However, there are some interesting parts of it."

Watching now. Haven't been to Doe's in about 3 years and it looks the exact same. And Mrs. Reed was as snarky as she always is. Love that woman
