Soooo we are even more thin at corner now? Hopefully the coaches are making the right moves switching these guys around..I guess they didn't think Langley could be a lockdown cornerback. Did he play WR in high school?

Brendan Langley is not taking the position change lightly. He plans on winning some hardware as a wide receiver. Wouldn't surprise me.

#UGA CB Brendan Langley moving to wide receiver is a smart move. It is his natural position. Great with the ball in his hands.

Brendan Langley told me last week he was moving to receiver. Said he wanted to surprise everyone in the fall. Mark Richt let cat out of bag.

He was a great receiver in HS.
We're thin at corner, but Langley had already been playing safety (where we are also thin). UGA is going to be thin in the secondary regardless.

This is a bad move. We're thin and DB and have tons of WRs. We don't have any true #1 NFL WR types, but we are loaded with guys just a notch below that. Brendan isn't a true #1 either and is probably just going to get lost in the shuffle instead of getting lots of PT I'd think he would in this super thin secondary.

yep, we shouldnt have moved Terry, either. Saban puts his athletes on defense, and we see where that gets him.

We have a whole Summer in sorting this out, thy will be done....

That's short-sighted.
After this season, the following receivers will graduate or be draft eligible:
Malcome Mitchell
Justin Scott-Wesley
Jonathan Rumph (out of ncaa eligibility)
Michael Bennett
Chris Conley
That's a hell of a hit we could take at receiver.
I hated Terry moving to DB, for this specific reason.
Hopefully Langley turns out to be a good receiver, and Terry can move back in 2015 after spending a year at DB, like Malcome Mitchell did.
No one has said recently that we didn't have enough talented DBs. Its because we actually do have alot of talented DB's.
They just haven't been coached up for shite, along with having too many freshmen on the field at once.
If it's one thing I'm confident about with Pruitt, it's secondary coaching.
I'm withholding judgement on his overall competency on being a DC.
But that's another topic altogether.

Good lord, i hope Pruitt knows what he's doing......

If he's not progressing at DB, there's no point keeping him there.
ETA: Breakdown of what we still have in the secondary
CB - Swann, Davis, Wilkerson, Dawson, Bowman
Star/Money - Green or other DBs
S - Moore, Mauger, Matthews, Terry, Redd
We also have Kennar Johnson, but I don't really know what position he would be.
Arriving in June/July:
Malkom Parrish - stud, could play anywhere in the secondary, will play early
Shattle Fenteng - JUCO transfer. Could play CB, star, or money. Good size would make him a good fit inside.
Dominick Sanders - another freshman who will play early, likely at either safety spot or at money.
Shaq Jones - freshman, good tools but would rather him sit this year to develop, has only played two years of football

Is Sanders the kid from Tucker? He has a very good highlight reel of his high school play. Got a ton of picks if I remember correctly and looked like a real good athlete. Maybe I am drinking the Kool Aid but I have faith in Pruitt. We have to right?

Yeah Sanders is from Tucker.
I would temper expectations for this season. I think there'll be flashes, even for whole games, where the secondary plays well. There will also be times where youth will rear its ugly head in moments of WTF

langley was absolutely horrible last year. i like this move.

Yea it will take a few games for them to start playing as a cohesive unit. That's what worries me none of these guys have gotten to play together very long and they will only have what 29 days to get things ready for the first game against Clemson?
