I'm not saying it isn't. Just saying that having a top attendance doesn't mean it's the best atmosphere. There are other reasons.

Those times when you know #1 isn't good enough and hire the best architectural team ever assembled to work on a college stadium -- in order to start over fresh...

Let's call it what it is:

Schtayte's atmosphere in the late 90s was unparalleled. Just ask Albert Belle.

In the past five years, however, things have taken a turn for the worst in Starksvul. Your metal bleachers have been empty, you only fill up the stadium for the Ole Miss series, and frankly the program lost its luster outside of last season's run to Omaha.

Ole Miss has the best baseball facility and atmosphere in the state of Mississippi, hands down. It's newer, cleaner, has more club seats, more amenities, better video board, better setting, better looking women, and more beer.

Just like this weekend's series, Ole Miss wins again.

Those weren't the most flattering or best views of/from that stadium, can't believe they didn't include a shot of downtown Columbia past the outfield...

Can't argue the SEC has 5 of the best in the country: Miss.State, Arkansas, Ole Miss, South Carolina, LSU; and several other nice ones - Auburn, Florida, Alabama, A&M, UK, UT, Vandy.

Faulkner's Woods looks like your run of the mill tree thicket. Just throwing that out there, keep trying to put down Dudy Noble though, we will keep setting records.

I can't believe how shitty we looked. More than that, I can't believe it took the LSU series and last weekend for the coaching staff to start jumping down throats.

Not all 15,000+ in attendance played.
So, there's that.

I love when people go out of their way to tell you how little they care.

What other college stadium can say it will be designed by the architect that gave you Camden Yards along with the Fenway and Dodger Stadium renovations? Yep -- only one.

quote:

There are some big names associated with the project, including Populous and Janet Marie Smith, Mississippi State alumnus and ballpark guru currently working for the Los Angeles Dodgers on the makeover of Dodger Stadium.

LINK

What's really sad is the amount Ole Miss spent to put a mediocre stadium that barely surpasses Dudy Noble in amenities on leased property -- only 22 years after Mississippi State originally built the Carnegie Hall of College Baseball.

Flame away.
