Lol no one talks poorly of savannah? The charleston port declined so much they've resorted to lies bat savannah to try and step back business. And I was in charleston last month. Stayed at the charleston place. Almost got an open container violation.

Yeah, Home Team is a BIG CHANGE from Bert's,

Can people still put in and out at that oyster shell ramp on SI in view of Coleman? And I heard they did something with that bridge, is it still a swing bridge?

I'm not sure, we usually use the ramp at Shem Creek over by that marina. And it's still a swing bridge. Opens up damn near once an hour during summer.

Surely I'm not going to have to explain the difference b/w our Port Authority and an average resident you might encounter at a local bar, right?

Forgive me If I don't believe you. Someone w/ the kind of $$$ to stay at Charleston Place would have surely dined at the finer restaurants in town, and thus would not still be laboring under the delusion that Savannah is providing meaningful competition to Charleston w/ respect to the culinary arts.

I did. And they were excellent. But I didn't have anything much better than the high end restaurants in savannah. I don't understand what restaurants are uncomparable.

I do find your attitude towards Charleston amusing, though, given it's EXACTLY the same attitude of everyone I meet in Savannah when they learn I am visiting from Charleston. Little brother complex to the core

That's what this thread kinda wreaks of which is a pity because both places are great.

I'm sure you flatter yourself by thinking Charleston residents act the same towards visitors from Savannah, but I've never heard anyone speak ill of Savannah here.

Exactly. Rarely have I ever heard Savannah even mentioned and when it is it's because I am from GA and usually because people wanna say "Yea, I like Savannah"

I agree both places are great. But truth is we have been the little brother (sister) for a long time. Kinda like USC and UGA. They've been irrelevant for so long and they're louder than ever now because of that complex. We don't really dislike them but they absolutely can't stand us. But you're right. Both beautiful places. Sorry I came off like a dick.

Why in baby Jesus' name would you be at Chas place, yet somehow need to walk the streets with your beer? I do not understand this...

Oh, I looked. I'm just saying...how the hell? When I think of Asheville, I think of a big arse house and getting ripped off by Indians.

Don't project.... You were staying at one of the nicer hotels in Chsrleston and your bitch was you almost got caught walking out of it with your brew dawg...

I simply ask why this is an issue Savannahites struggle with?

I've got an online photo album of me pissing on every dock in shem creek, with a 14 jb I was able to get all the way up in the back, as well as up that side creek past Vickery's, Hog Creek I believe.

Wasn't a struggle, just habit. Same reason you still flip the light switch when the power is out. It's not that big of a deal, just a bonus for savannah. And I walked out of a bar with a drink not a hotel.

But ya, I'd much rather carry one around the riverfront of Savannah avoiding hippies and panhandlers...

frick!! Why didn't we think of that??? What are these bo-at things you speak of??

I have no idea what he's talking about. Apparently you keep them at places called mariners or mariners marinas? I don't know but I'd rather hang out with hippies.

it was in a plastic cup. I know this is a new concept because you don't get to do it, but seriously it's no need to get upset and rustled.

Apparently they go out on these new-fangled contraptions because they can't drink beer outside OR on the beach. That's illegal too. And gay.
