I hope you win so you can take the brunt of the Yankee invasion...

We take it anyway. Everyone up north loves Charleston and Savannah.

I left this thread way too early yesterday. I happily sat outside with some bourbon on ice while watching the Braves play. But that was in Atlanta, so it doesn't count in this debate. Frick.

Just to be clear... You contend that there is a SC state law that says you can't have beer on 90% of SC Beaches?

Are you certain?

I never once said it was a State Law. I do know that it is unlawful to possess alcohol on the beach in Hilton head, Myrtle Beach, Folly Beach, IOP, and Sullivan's Island. I don't know or really give a shite if you can drink a beer on Edisto.

The beer laws are local ordinances. Up until last year, you could drink on Folly Beach. Bunch of rowdy July 4th-ers ruined it for everyone.

What's being overlooked here is that olddawg26 absolutely did not stay at Charleston Place and he did not dine at McCrady's. For one, no bar in the vicinity of Charleston Place serves alcohol in plastic cups (as a frame of reference, the two bars in CHS Place are next to a Gucci and Louis Vuitton store and you'd be out of place sans blazer and loafers). Nor are there plastic cups in the rooms.

Second, a few nites at Charleston Place plus a dinner at McCrady's will already set you back four figures. I've lived in Charleston awhile and only eaten at McCrady's three times. I've only stayed at Charleston Place once. A weekend like that would be equivalent to someone claiming they recently visited Atlanta and stayed at the Four Seasons and ate at Ocean Prime and Hal's. Which is decidedly NOT the vibe that olddawg26 is putting off... a person whose primary concern a/b where to live being whether or not you can get drunk on the sidewalk isn't generally the type of person ordering the tasting menu and requesting recos from the sommelier at McCrady's.

So I'll just go ahead and call bullshite on that.

love it. That convo will end now to not look like a d bag but you don't know how wrong you are. Further more I have no idea why it was in a plastic cup, but we got it at an irish pub nearby. Call all the bullshite you want.

There is an Irish Pub between Charleston Place and the French Quarter Inn (where I typically stay) so this is very plausible.

I'm not making anything up. And there's plenty of people who make much more money than me that don't wear blazers and loafers and stay away from Gucci. I wouldn't be caught dead in that shite.

No offense, but you come off a bit douchey in that post. There are plenty of rich people out there that don't necessarily act like they're rich. They're usually the one's that are the most fun to hang around because they don't care about keeping up the image of "I've got more money than you, and I dress like it."

Yeah every town has those tools. But we have a very large art and indie scene; they are definitely more receptive to outsiders and people who don't dress like them to prove something.

Someone was assraw that myself a others abused their shitty pole so, they locked down the IP Address. However, I never voted for Savannah in the finals so, I will have to try again tomorrow. If I get the same messages, it's as fixed as the Obama election and most others before that.

Sav definitely has alot more of an N orleans charm to it. Its unapologetically a place where getting trashed is what alot of people come here for and the locals engage in eagerly. But its a dirty place. No doubt. Charleston has most definitely done a better job with having a larger area revitalized and not as mingled with sketchy areas you dont want to be after dark. From Market st, metting and king, over through CofC area and the battery , youre never really concerned about going a block and getting raped. Which is nice ill admit

The surrounding suburbs and towns. Its a coin toss to me. Between Garden city, Pooler, Skidaway, Wilmington Is, tybee, etc. And N chuck, W Ashley, Mt.pleasant, IoP, Johns, James, and IOP. who gives a shite really

The historic and civil war crap. I dont know who gets the edge. I dont study dead people and such. I went to fort pulaski 100 times when I was a kid because it was 5 min from my school and has always bored the shite out of me

But regardless. If youre from Georgia or claim to be and vote for charleston youre an a-hole

Voting for Savannah all the way. We got this.

Somebody tell me what Franklin has going for it? Never been, but I'm surprised it's gone this far when it's essentially a suburb.
