we stranded lots of runners again...im definitely thinking we need to shift the lineup...Harang did ok...but he had some spots where he could not hit the zone or was trying to hard to hit the out sides...that one run where he threw it in the dirt and the guy scored from third was his fault entirely...and gattis was pissed..

about Gattis...has he ever gotten anybody out at second and stopped the steal? i mean...i like the guy but damn!! he throws high every time...and then they started picking on him...like 4 stolen bases last night...

BJ had a nice hit it was just not when it was needed...i am real disappointed in him and his brothers defense last night which is usually something I like...there was one key hit where justin came over an called BJ off when it was clearly a centerfield ball...

we need to get hot wit the bats...mostly fine on D but need some tweaking but the bats have to get going...at the right times...

we are 7 games in and he had a hit last night...i trust him in center way more thean schafer...even though I like jordan...we need to use him somewhere...but BJ's stance and swing look way better...sometimes i think he mentally breaks down cause of the struggles last year and the hype around his contract and all...like last night when he came out and struck out swinging his first at bat and got booed...its the pressure that gets him...when he is not feeling the pressure he makes contact...

Man BMac was even WORSE at throwing out runners at 2nd. He'd just about throw it into Right Field every time he attempted one. Had a slight slice on his throws. Either that or he bounced it 10 feet short and almost decapitated the crouching pitcher haha.

Gattis throws out more runners than any catcher we've had in recent memory. He was off last night but I'd rather have him defensively than McCann.

Schaffer plays CF as well as BJ any day, and would probably be on base more. It appears that BJ has a bad attitude or is somewhat lazy, or maybe both. Unfortunately, I can't see him being benched because of the $$$.

perception...

i don't think he does at all...i think he is frustrated at fans a little because they are very unforgiving and he is struggling...but he worked very hard in the off season and actually had a decent spring...as I stated his stance and swing are way different...he will come around...and I believe he wants to...do you think he likes being in a slump or not holding up his end of the bargain?

now i know you are high.....maybe right or left...not center...

Not at all. The heel turn is gone, but his head is still badly pulling ahead of his swing. He swung and missed at 3 consecutive 89mph fastballs down the middle last night. That's inexcusable for a major leaguer.

That's my biggest concern with guy. He's missing on average to above average fastballs ...a very, very bad sign for a MLB hitter. It doesn't matter what adjustments you make on your swing if you can't catch up to a fastball.

His only hope is to completely rework his swing to make it a shorter, singles hitter, high contact swing. Get on base and increase the steal attempts. It will never happen though, he got home run happy after that second half he had his last year with Tampa. He's convinced he's something he's not.

Was he not lazy in his pursuit of the little pop up behind short last night. His loafing cost us a couple of runs. No way thats Justins ball. You should give up analyzing baseball players cause you obviously have no clue as to what you're talking about. BJ had an ok spring- 267 avg, 2 dbls, 1 triple, 1 HR, 4 rbi, 2 stolen bases 7 BB but 21 K's. 21 strikeouts in 60 spring at bats. Thats 1 k every 3 plate appearances. Regular season he's 5/29 with zero walks and 13 k's. That sucks! BJ sucks! Your opinions suck!

Amazing what one hot month and the word "potential" will get you paid these days in MLB.

frick you..your opinions suck...Justin called that ball and i already stated that shite pissed me off too...he should have called Justin off...but they are brothers and what not...maybe he was trusting Justin to get it when he shouldnt have...and Justin never should have called it...

my thing is we are 7 games in and its all "cut BJ"...etc...that is a shite ton of money..i gree...of which he is not worth..but they did the contract...it woudl hurt us to let all three of those guys go...and enybody with any kind of economical sense knows that...get them in the lineup where they should be and help them progress...

oh and frick you again...you are probably one of those that cries for UGA to fire CMR after every loss too...

amazing that you guys need to look at his whole body of work in Tampa and what he was getting paid down there...they were giving arguably the best division in baseball fits for several seasons and they were the lowest paid team in the league...and he was a huge contributor to that...taht is why he got so much $$...if your mad...be mad at the front office for doing the deal

7 games....7....

I have been since the day they announced BJ's signing.

Plus all of last season.

Look, you can't cut the guy because of the money he's making, but he shouldn't be a regular starter anymore. Schafer is starting tonight anyway, and Simmons is batting second.
