I get that some bama fans are gonna stand behind saban no matter what he says because of his success, but it's really time for him to shut up on this topic. Its accomplishing NOTHING but making him look like a tool.

Nick Saban is really the only one looking like a clown in this scenario.
It is hard to look like too much of clown with 4 national championships under your belt.
Maybe it is because I haven't been following every quote of this whole shitshow, but I don't think Saban has made a ton of unsolicited comments on the issue. He voiced his opinion to whatever committee, answered a few questions. I don't care why Saban views the rule the way he does. I think it would be a good rule because I don't like the high flying offensive shootouts as much, but that is just my opinion.
Saban will go out and coach the players he has recruited to the best of his ability in order to win the game on the field. That is it, all the offseason rant bullshite means nothing in the long run, just like the schedule threads didn't mean anything, just like the greyshirt business didn't mean anything, just like saban to texas didn't mean anything.
At the end of the day, it will all be settled on the field. I don't think that the uptempo offense is going to be Saban's undoing. He is too dedicated and too good at what he does. I guess we will find out in the upcoming seasons.

Rome is terrible but you really can't argue with anything he said on this matter, which is why bama fans haven't even tried.

He looks like a clown for hiding behind player safety. The fact that he won titles is irrelevant. I've failed to see when people bash Bert that Arkansas fans throw up "yeah but he doesn't look like a clown because Rose Bowls" because that's not the reason he looks stupid. It's because of death certificates.

I didn't quite follow your response but I think I got the gist.
I understand that he used player safety, he may believe that I don't know the man. I think there is a NEGLIGIBLE amount of truth to the player safety issue, not enough to back the rule change.
I didn't see him do anything other than address whatever committee answer a few questions, like I said before he hasn't been sending out unsolicited comments to my knowledge. If he had been campaigning the public for this change I would agree that he would look somewhat scared.
I feel like this is just getting blown way out of proportion like his grave analogies tend to do. Which is understandable given his recent run of success. I just don't find that I feel embarrassed as some people suggested alabama fans should.

He doesn't have to campaign the public just the voters. Which is why he asked to speak to them. He's been weighing in with his opinion on the matter for two straight years. I don't have a problem with that. I have a problem with the player safety excuse(and it's most definitely an excuse) which is why he is perceived to be scared. It wouldn't be as blown out of proportion if he and the fat man weren't trying to push this rule change through in a non-rule change year. If its discussed next year and it passes then so be it but pushing their agenda through their bullshite safety argument is disingenuous at best.

1-1 against Sumlin, 0-1 against Gus.
That records don't lie.

Cause those are the only teams that run up tempo offense he has faced in his career.
He is 2-2 vs Gus BTW.

so a boxer taking 90 punches a fight suffers no more residual cumulative injury than a boxer taking 60........seems legit

Oh, Gus was the HC the other 3 games? I didn't realize that. Or are you saying that Gus had control of the entire team as a coordinator?
