Or are you saying that Gus had control of the entire team as a coordinator?

Rome is a joke. He disses everyone then gets them on his shows and bends over and kisses arse to them.

With that said, Saban was really being a baby about all of this. And for you saying he leads defense blah blah.. he still struggles with hurry up offense and he lost to Auburn and Oklahoma this past year. Any one loss to Alabama is a big deal.. multiple losses. Ouch.. Defensive ranks mean nothing.

So glad they didn't change the rule just to help his coaching easier. LSU has no issue shutting down offenses like Oregon and Auburn.

My 2 cents-

1, I agree with Rome on the HUNH/Saban issue. It reeks of sour grapes; Saban doesn't want to adjust to playing against that style of offense.

2, I also remember Everett going after Rome when it happened, and it was hilarious. I always thought it was legit, too; but go watch the youtube video LINK.
Both guys are smiling, which may be considered just nervous energy from a conflict, or could be something else. More importantly, watch Everett's attack- around 55 seconds in or so. He grabs the table and lunges before Rome calls him Chris...
of course the audio is out of sync, so it may have been afterwards.

If it was legit, I can't really blame Rome for diving- Everett was 6'5 and 255, and Rome was a normal non-athlete. Everett would have put him in ICU.

I just love that clip because Everett tells Rome not to call him that one more time. Rome thinking he is on TV and nothing is gonna happen tries to call his bluff, turns out he wasn't completely bluffing.
