I don't understand why he's so adamant about it. He was the same way in an older Coker topic. It's as if he has some vendetta with him.

Yet their second team offense is better than a lot of first string offenses despite their inability to produce against a banged up defense.

Wow. When AU is good, Aubies homer all over themselves

I dug a little bit out of him...has to do with Coker getting hype

I'm assuming he is mad because Marshall isn't as a returning starter

I agree though it seems like he's been adamant about it

My argument is I've seen the damn shitshow at QB in person and all Coker is gonna have to do is not make mistakes and manage circa Jay Barker in 92 with this D and anything else is icing on the cake. Maybe after a couple SEC games he might be let loose if we are in a jam, didn't really need Barker to "win a game" until the SEC CG against UF that year

It is particularly funny considering the last 2 QB's AU has had were transfers and like I said I'd give my left testicle right now for Jeremy Johnson to be on Bama's roster and he thinks Coker coming in is so much different than Marshall coming in last Summer and winning the job

My brother didn't go to Alabama. When he went somewhere else did he suddenly have to stop being a lifelong Bama fan?

I didn't play for the Saints.

Whew. That felt good to get off my chest.

Clarion-Ledger on Leo Lewis:

quote:

Leo Lewis was planning on waiting until National Signing Day to make his college commitment.

That was until he arrived at Alabama Saturday for the school's "A-Day" spring game and everything changed. With his mother's blessing, Lewis verbally committed to Alabama Saturday, along with three other top prospects, to give the Crimson Tide one of the best recruiting days in recent memory.

"Coach (Nick) Saban always makes it special," Lewis said. "The whole experience was great. My mom got to see everything hands-on. She loved it and I loved it, and that made it even more special."

Lewis, who is ranked No. 2 in The Clarion-Ledger's Targeted 22, had his choice of SEC schools to pick from. The 6-foot-3, 225-pound linebacker from Brookhaven High School said he chose Alabama over Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Florida and Georgia, but said there wasn't a clearcut second school behind Alabama.

He had long been enamored with Alabama and told The Clarion-Ledger in a previous interview that it was his most special offer. Lewis, who is considered by some to be the top inside linebacker in the country, should fit right in at a defense that has produced recent linebackers like C.J. Mosley, Rolando McClain and Demeco Ryans.

"I've always thought 'Bama was a great school, which it is," he said. "I've always thought that even before I had scholarships. I know it has a very elite history at linebacker and that's what stuck out to me the most."

Lewis doesn't have any other visits currently scheduled, but says he will still take official visits elsewhere. He is happily committed to Alabama, but "my recruiting process is still open."

I saw that.

Couple interesting picks being put in on the CB today:

Hale Hentges to Ohio State.
Matthew Burrell to Ohio State (bunch of them).
Tee McFadden to Auburn.

I wonder if he was the one Bone was referring to when he said he wouldn't be surprised if we got another commitment yesterday.

Rico McGraw news: The UA staff quietly hosted the #1 player in Tn and a current UGA commit on Friday; Alabama is still a major factor here

Interdasting. I posed this question to our friends, but do you think we would take three safeties in this class? We will probably lose three this year: Perry, Williams, Collins.

From Drew: ( some of his info can be a little sketch, but it makes for some interesting discussion.)

quote:

Recruiting Notes:
Jovon Robinson-Sources indicate that he will be going to Auburn.

D.J. Jones-He is Bo Davis’s #1 target at DT/NG and is a top priority for the 2015 class. Some think that UA has the inside track with his former teammates (Pettway and Reed) already on campus, while the lure of going back to SC (grew up 15 miles from Clemson) might be hard to overcome. Florida State is also a major factor here. EMCC HC Buddy Stephens is a pro UA guy and the Tide staff does have some momentum here.

Rico McGraw-We reported earlier that Rico was on campus on Friday. Things are trending in the right direction for UA and he plays a position of need (safety) for the 2015 class.

Kerryon Johnson-Now you know the Tony Conner/CJ Hampton for CNS in the 2015 class. Sources tell us that the UA staff will be going to Huntsville later this week when the May evaluation starts to make another push at KJ. We have been told that CNS wants to flip KJ in a bad way.

Daron Payne-While anything can change in recruiting, the Auburn staff has basically waved the white flag on DP. He is considered a strong UA lean at this point.

I'd say we will. Ronnie Clark may be at ILB, Saban said he wants more depth there. If Ronnie were to play Safety, I could see us just taking two.

This is your FB/HB recruit for the cycle.

Isnt the thought that he isnt as good a RB as he is safetly? Why try and flip a guy to become the next Brent Calloway?
